When I pre-ordered my Pixel I knew I was going to need some serious protector for my purchase. A friend recommended Otterbox but I wasn't sold until I found this option on the Verizon online store, but it was sold out. Thankfully the Otterbox site had some in for pre-order and I was sold. Not a big fan of the completely covered defender series but this Commuter series is perfect.
The texture feels great in my hand and the two layers of protector comforts me as I hold, and pickup my new ridiculously expense phone. I feel like it could survive a drop and the complete encasement with a self applied screen protector allows me to not worry about dropping the device in water of any depth.
If Otterbox releases a two tone custom case for the Pixel XL I'd be all kinds of on board for that.

I love it, I've always bought the defender series and have been happy except for the dust I would get under the screen protector. With the commuter, I use my own stick on screen protector and no dust. In defence of the defender, I operate a wood shop, everything has dust under it.

A tight fit at first, but loving the new case!

This case fits really tight, but overall that is a good quality after it is on the phone. This isn't my first Commuter case, so I knew that opening the charging port and headphone flap would be tough at first. After a day or two, the new case is settled in and I am having no issues.
I love the feel of the case... sturdy and has a non-slip feel.
I read the power button was hard to press when in the case. It may be difficult if you have a weak hand or sensory issues. I have no issues turning on the phone, but I would not recommend this case to someone like my mother-in-law who has had a stroke and has limited hand mobility.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this when I got my new phone and promised myself I wouldn't use the phone until the case arrived! It fits the phone perfectly, I got the pink version because it reminds me of my mom and the color is great. The corners of the case have taken on a bit of a darker color after having it for a while. I have yet to drop the phone but the two part system seems durable and I feel confident it will take care of my goods.

Great protection, difficult to press power button

Honestly, I've enjoyed Otterbox's product thoroughly before and have recommended it to several people. They seem to be well thought-out and I always choose them over other cases. This one is no different in terms of protection, I've already managed to drop my phone several times. However, the buttons and fit of the case itself seems a bit sloppy. There's some edges that the hard case doesn't fit perfectly around the soft inner case. The worst part being the power button, which becomes extremely difficult to click. I have to press very hard, sometimes using my nail. The volume button aligns well, just the power button.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The case felt so, so cheap. The rubber silicone that is suppose to fit around the phone, doesn't fit properly. It looks terrible and uneven. I have used OtterBox products in the past, and I am not happy with the fit on this case for the Pixel XL. Not worth it on this one

I bought this case almost two weeks ago, and it will be the last case I ever buy from Otterbox. The hard case is flimsy, and the rubber inner shell doesn't fit my phone properly. To add insult to injury, the volume keys stick and the sleep button is non responsive because the rubber shell doesn't line up with them. Very dissapointed in this product, and would not recommend this to anyone.
