This is the first OtterBox Commuter I actually have a gripe about. The case has a solid feel around the phone. The rubber to plastic ratio feels and fits like a cashmere glove to my PXL. The texturized rubber is grabby enough in all the right places without feeling like you're holding sticky paper or cheap sandpaper. A real nice balance of comfort and grip. The 'matted' black color and look is not offensive, and the plastic shield to rubber connections are visually uniform and all but seamless. Almost like the curves of an A4 or Chevy Vett. Input and output covers fit super snug and secure. I LOVE the slight declining indent on the back that guides my finger into place for the fingerprint sensor. Nice touch to detail. The only 'CON' for the case is that the power button requires a little more effort and awareness than what I am use to when I have used Commuter cases in the past, and with various phone experiences. The volume rocker is solid. But, the power button’s 'cover' is a little challenging. I do not regret my purchase. Also, yes, I took off the cover (which is not easy to do - "winning" ha), and adjusted the case a couple of times. No dice in getting a better fit and comfortable power button pressing feel. The power button cover is just a 9/10 vs. the rest of the features being a 10/10. Thank you for another great product Otterbox.

Price is a little high, but you get quality. Unlike most cases the otterbox is an extremely tight fit on the phone. So virtually no dust can work it's way in. It is a little slippery if your hands are dry but it kind of counters it along the stop ides with grip slits. The power and headphone covers fit very snug and I don't see them wearing out anytime soon. The looks of the case make the phone look sleek and respectable, unlike some heavy duty cases that look like it has body armor on, not that I frown upon it just not my thing. The tight fit of the case also makes the case look like a regular tpu case compared to other heavy duty cases where they tend to bulge out on the corners or are overall noticeable bigger. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this case to anyone with a pixel, it is one of the few cases that should fit a phone in my opinion.

Case is solid as it gets, can drop and does not even really scuff!! It is a little stiff on the buttons, but it is as solid as it gets in every way. I would trust my phone to Otter box, soon to be "Ox Box" lol, any day of the week!!

I bought this case right after I purchased my Pixel XL. I'm a fireman, and my phone gets abused more than most. From sliding across the dash board of a fire truck, to being smashed in my pocket under wet and stifling gear, the phone has been kept totally safe. The hard outer shell of the case makes it easy to get the device in and out of my pockets, even when the fabric is damp. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone wanting to keep their phone safe when rough use is possible, and they still want to retain the relatively slim profile of the original phone.

I just bought a new Otterbox to protect my Google Pixel XL. I've never broken a phone, or cracked a screen in my life, and I rarely drop a phone.
However, better safe than sorry, so I bought an Otterbox for my pricey new XL. Last night I dropped my phone in a parking lot from about chest height. I can't see a mark on the phone or the Otterbox, so nine thumbs up!
