I Have Mixed Feelings About This Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very mixed on how I feel about this product. First off, I wonder if this was intended for an Asian market. The reason I question this is because it has two large burners in the front. American cooking, as is the same with the majority of the western world, needs one large high heat burner and one smaller, lower heat burner in the front. The reason this is necessary is because one is used for searing, and the other is used for lower, through cooking that you need to keep an eye on. Often, a food item is seared then switched to the lower temp burner to finish off the cooking. That is not possible with this stove in this position. You have to move it to a back burner which makes it harder to keep an eye on your food. Another downside, is that both high flame burners are much higher than any normal stove. This would be great for the Asian market where the majority of their cookware is made with carbon steel but for regular stainless steel cookware, even the pricy multi-ply pots and pans like what I own, cannot handle that level of heat. As a result, much of my cookware is getting destroyed. There is also a danger with such a high flame stove, in that passing your hand over the stove to get to the panel in the back can ignite your clothing if you happen to be wearing a long sleeve. I would suggest before you even consider doing that to turn off the burners in the front first to avoid a potential tragedy. As for the oven, it works well. I like the fact that the broiler is on the top inside the oven, as opposed to the bottom where the drawer is outside the oven, so I do not have to remove what I am baking to brown it up in the broiler. I like the draw on the bottom where I can store pot lids, but do not fill it up too much or you can block the ignition, and the oven won't light, which has happened to me already. A service man came and told me about that. One thing I do think can be better is that the timer buzzer should be louder. It is way too low, and it should be continuous until you turn it off. As is, it only goes off twice, but so low that you can miss it if you happen to have something else making noise at the time. Also, you should be able to adjust the oven temp without having to press the start button either. That is a little issue but annoying none the less. Other than that, this stove is okay, but I would have gotten something different if I could have found a stove with the broiler in the oven as opposed to where the bottom drawer is, which is how most of them are being made now. Overall, an okay product, cheaply made, that will do the job, but you must be very careful and alert using it. I hope Amana will take my suggestions seriously when designing their stoves in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife loves this oven, its been 30 years since we purchased one. Needed a different oven because it was getting harder to clean by hand. Needed a self cleaning one. Helps so much as a senior citizen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the range, but the low flame does not get low enough. Also, the bottom tray is much smaller than my previous range and I cannot store my broiler pan in it. This range did not come with a broiler pan, so I'm glad I saved my old one.
