I have had my vitamix a couple months. I was a bit frustrated with it initially because I attempted to use it without layering the food items the way the book it comes with suggests. I ran into some trouble blending as a result. I have mostly been using the blender for making smoothies. I drink A LOT of smoothies. I owned a Ninja and my smoothies would end up chunky. Chewing a smoothie is not ideal. Its not... smooth. I can now make legit smoothies, like the ones you purchase at a shop. I love it. I tried making a soup once, but didn't get the consistency or flavor right. It was thoroughly blended, but a bit too thick, and the ingredients just didn't work. So, you can't just throw a bunch of delicious veggies together and hope it tastes good.
I've been using a Vitamix for 5 years. Previously, we had a C-Series at home and loved it. I've now had the A2300 for 6 months and it is just as good, with the added benefit of the digital timer and improved lid on the container. The build quality feels just as sturdy, only this time the warranty is a full 10 years. You can't beat that.
One of the quirks with the A2300 is that the container is big. Great if you're making a soup or smoothies for a family, but definitely too big if you're blending for just 1-2 people. The 8 and 20 ounce containers are should be released soon. I would consider those as 'must-have' accessories when you make your purchase, so budget to include them when you buy your Vitamix or to add them later if they aren't available yet.
I'm not unhappy about the large container because I use it to make pizza dough frequently, which wouldn't work in a narrower one. I don't expect to have the best of both worlds, which is why I don't see it as a negative.
While I enjoy the A2300 and use it at least 3-4 times a week, I can't help but think that the best buy in this lineup is the A2500. You'll add 3 of the 5 available presets, without the touchscreen, which doesn't actually add any functionality to the blender.
Overall, I'm happy with the blender. I think the container is too big for 1-2 people, but I'll order the small containers for single servings and sauces when they become available.
I was beyond excited about this vitamix. I have been making my morning smoothies in a nutrabullet and it left some chunks and didn't blend really frozen things. Well the vitamix would blend a rock, but only at industrial sizes. So if you're making smoothies for 6 people it works great! However just try making a smoothie for 1. Everything just gets flung to the sides and nothing blends. Or it created an air pocket with all the ingredients stuck above it. Such a waste of money. Maybe a smaller jug would help but they're not available for this series.
I am a chef and had to give my old vitamix to my food truck. Missing my vitamix dearly I bought a new one for home and I took a chance on the ascent model. I did tons of research regarding the newest model with the auto buttons and the base model. I usually don't do anything automated so I bought A2300. So glad I did, while I can't speak for the newer models, the A2300 works awesome. I saved a ton of money buying it too... the new models are hundreds more. The ascent series have a new lid design which I love! It's so easy to snap right on. can't wait for the new accessories too. Very happy with my purchase!
This machine lives up to its reputation. It's powerful and has quickly proven it's versatility. It's made broccoli soup and hummus smoothe and creamy and yet also chopped zucchini without over processing. Can't wait to see all the meals it helps prepare.
