Doesn't blend well AT ALL

I have owned this blender for a little over a year now. I debated for months about which system to buy and finally settled on the smart series, mostly because I was tired of trying to decide I just wanted to get on with life without reading any more about blenders! First THE PROS: It has a sleek/modern look, feels solid even at high speed, fits under my cabinets easily, and is not excessively noisy. Over all I feel it's a solidly built blender. Now The CONS: THE CONTAINER! It is well built, I give them that, but the massive 64 oz container that comes with it makes it virtually impossible to get a good blend. It doesn't bring the ingredients down into the blades properly and I'm forced to constantly tamper and add liquid to TRY and get it to blend. I like my smoothies thick and it doesn't seem like this machine can handle it. I ALWAYS have to add more and more liquid just to try and get a decent blend. I have given up trying to have a nice thick creamy smoothie- I just settle for a overly liquid smoothie and at this price point I don't think I should have to settle for underwhelming. I know I can buy the smaller container but it's ridiculous to have to do that after you pay so much up front for the machine. It should work as they sell it. NEXT CON: I hate the soft touch button! Hate it. When I press start I want it to start - not wait hit it again and hope for the best. It never starts on the first press- NEVER. The old vitamix was much better all around than this new models and oh how I wish I could return it and just go old school, Over all it's well built but I'm disappointed in the results it produces.

People keep asking me why I bought this particular model. In short, It looks like a classic vitamix blender, but it has a little secret. The motor is more powerful and it has hidden programing that you can access from the cell phone app.

I have wanted a Vitamix mix blender for as long as I can remember. I wish I had got it sooner, in the long run I would have saved money if I had I have used a lot of different blenders and none of them compared with my Vitamix. I am very happy with it
