I've been using a refurbished legacy Vitamix for years, and was looking to upgrade. I am so happy I did. I had some concerns that the wider shaped carafe wouldn't blend as well, but as far as I can tell the textures of my smoothies and cashew creams is the same (excellent). My favorite feature that I didn't realize I even wanted is the timer that counts how long you've been blending. I've been blending smoothies daily for YEARS while counting to 45 seconds in my head. It's so much nicer to just look at the display. I also love the versatility of being able to use the 8 oz and 20 oz containers. Couldn't be happier!
I bought the additional small cups and smoothie canisters and my large women's hands can't unscrew the blade holder - the blade holder is too large and too tight. I have to find the man of the house each time. Added to that the auto-sensitive aspect doesn't register anything is on the connection, even pure water. I take it off, put it on, dust off connections... then randomly it works before I have to find the man of the house. I will have to send it back and get something more manual.
I bought my machine because I needed a high powered blender for culinary classes. I just used it to make a ginger vinaigrette and my morning smoothie. OMG! It’s amazing and what a difference in the consistency of my smoothie! Can’t wait to create so many new dishes!
