I purchased the 2300 because I was excited at using it with the Vitamix Food Processor attachment, too. My old food processor was not doing so well, and I was impressed with the solid build and quality of Vitamix products. So I was predisposed to really like this product. I did enjoy having a count-up timer right in front of me, and I also appreciated that the shorter container would have fit under the cabinet, if I stored it there. Unfortunately, there were several differences from my old Vitamix 5200 that led me to return it. First, whenever I started blending something, the entire thing would explode upward and coat the inside of the container all the way up to the lid. This meant that I had to scrape it down to get everything mixed, and the lid would drip mess everywhere. Moreover, the new tamper (which feels like cheaper plastic than the old tamper design) didn't have any disk-shaped piece near the handle to block that gush of food from splashing out of the top opening. And finally, the lid has clips made from the same, very sturdy plastic, which means that the clips are very hard to undo, and I worry that with time they'll just crack from the stress. Ultimately, I decided to return it and stick with my old, taller, narrower blender with the rubber lid and well-designed tamper.
This is a good blending base. It is the 6th Vitamix I have purchased - 3 were gifts. When I purchased this A2300 I did not need another blender, but I had bought 2 accessories (the metal soup container & the food processor attachments) & they would not work with the vitamix I already owned. since only the ascent and one other model (that doesn’t seem to be sold anymore) have sensors where the containers sit. It kind of stinks because I bought the vita mix for its versatility and so I didn’t have so many machines cluttering up my kitchen. But, this model only accepts the attachments & containers that have the sensor bases and will not accept any of the many other containers that I’ve already purchased for the other models & the other vita mix model won’t accept any of these attachments or containers. If I had realized that the food processor would require a different motor base, I would have saved $100s & kitchen space by buying a dedicated, top notch food processor.
I'm using it for 2 years with my cousin recommendation. This product made my life easier and faster. i don't need to spend long hours to blend (especially dosa batter) and cleaning is like easy peasy lemon squeeze... I will buy again to gift for my parents.
Pros: Speed of Service, Durability, Easy to use, Product features, Power
I can't say how much I love the vitamix blenders. I had an old model and decided to upgrade with the good holiday prices. Boy, I'm glad I did! We have a smoothie every morning and we cannot get over how much smoother and creamier our smoothies are. Love it! I love the shorter, wider container. Blends everything up so well....with no eruptions! lol. I love that it fits under my cabinets now, not like the old design. I love the clear lid. It pushes on easier and is easier to clean....altho, it hasn't gotten splattered yet! I have always loved Vitamix blenders, but now love them even more.
