[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought to go along with my HP laptop which also has a 4k screen. Let me say it's night and day difference where the laptop screen is so much better than this. It's not to say that this is a bad screen, it's got fairly good color and seems to be well made, it's just not even close to being as vibrant as the 4k screens on their laptops. I have to use them one at a time now because the difference in quality is that noticeable. I even did some more research to see if this monitor is actually 4k, because it didn't really seem like it.
Been using only a week but a huge difference from my 1080p monitor. Colors and clarity are outstanding. Reason for dropping one star is due to the Display Assistant wouldn't install from the disc sent with it. No big deal, Windows default settings for the monitor is sufficient.
The HP Envy 27 looks sleek because all of the controls are hidden. That is not a good thing when one wants to make an adjustment. Worse, there appears to be no easy way to downshift the screen resolution level. Compounding the problem, the Envy's native 4K screen resolution tends to override the setting of an HP Zbook laptop connected to it. A resolution level of 4K is great for images, but is terrible for reading print; the text is tiny. The HP Envy 27 is a disappointment, making my work harder, rather than easier. If I had the time, I would ship it back to HP.
I have been trying to find a 4k monitor that is affordable and has good color accuracy for photo editing, Really great price for an ISP monitor and best of all it is USB-C computable! love that it also has enough power to charge my MacBook as I use the monitor.
