Zippers were stiff, TSA locks were poorly constructed and there were no instructions on how to set them, and the suitcase overall was cheaply made. I sent two back. I do NOT recommend this suitcase. Spend more and get a better product. Samsonite makes better bags!

I haven’t traveled with this suitcase yet, but it ticks all my requirements for a lightweight, maneuverable, expandable carry-on size case. I am in my 70s and will be traveling with family. I intend to pack light and efficiently in one small suitcase and one backpack so that my son-in-law doesn’t have to worry about my luggage as well as everyone else’s.

The product is solid, however there are very few airlines you can actually take this bag as a carry on due to its slightly larger dimensions. I believe calling this bag a "carry on" is a misnomer. I would not have purchased it had I realized how few airlines actually accept a bag this size as a carry on. But I should have researched that myself in the first place.

pull-out telescoping handle is a real problem

The suitcase itself looks fine, but the pull-out telescoping handle is a real problem. It doesn’t open or close smoothly at all—you have to shake it around and fight with it just to get it to lock into place. Every time we use it, it feels like a struggle. For something as basic and important as the handle, this is really disappointing and makes travel more frustrating than it should be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
