I bought this bag for a multi-stop trip. I couldn't prop open the top while packing. I didn't think much of it at the time. When I picked up my bag, I was surprised at the large number of scrapes on it. This bag is not a true 3D rectangle. Rather, it has eight sides. This makes balancing to pack or unpack very difficult. I suspect this also made it more vulnerable to scratches. The person with whom I was traveling had a traditional hard, four wheeled Samsonite. That one had fewer scratches after > 20 trips than mine did after one. I am so disappointed in this purchase. I thought I could count on Samsonite. I was wrong.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor Quality, difficult to balance, Difficult to Pack
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Too tall to meet carry-on limits.

Nice bag, but an inch too high for latest carry-on requirements on most international flights, primarily because of the large wheels.
