Great Machine

Had a Brother B&W laser printer for years and had no trouble with it. Finally purchased the MFC-J6935DW as a robust printer & large format scanner for home. Installation & operation is easy. ADF (auto doc feeder) works great as does the feature scanning to USB or to your computer. Wi-Fi connected easily, no issues. Only CON is would like to see some improvement in printer control panel menus and better computer scanning screens. Overall a great machine and looking forward to a long life!!

Best printer I've ever owned

For a full description of its strengths and weaknesses (almost none), the PCMag review is spot on. There's a newer model out now with larger ink tanks, the MFC-J6945DW but I don't own it.
Fast, low cost — about 1/4–1/5 the ink cost of the HP I replaced. Almost no warm-up time till print begins. Love it. Full duplex print & scan including tabloid. What's not to like? Regular firmware updates as needed are good, too.
If there's a downside, it's that the ink does not saturate the paper like my HP on its Fine setting or most laser printers. That's ok, it's only noticeable when I A/B the output between the two. Perfectly great for music (my primary use) and the 200–300 pages my wife prints a week for her students.
I'll use this till I wear it out unless Brother makes a Super Tabloid (12" x 19" or 13" x 20") version of this All-in-One. If that happens, I'll buy it.
Because of the size and weight, I bought a LUXOR 24"W x 18"D x 26"H AV cart that fits perfectly. For large scanning jobs, it's handy to wheel it to my desk. Because I have it operating wirelessly, unplug the power cord, move from one office to the other, plug in and go.
For Mac owners, it does work on the native AirPrint drivers but you have much greater functionality and control if you download the correct CUPS print drivers from Brother.

Fairly easy to use.

Took much experimenting to learn how to use printer, as instructions are not very clear. Color and black/white seem too light compared with a laser printer which I also have and use. Need to be able to email and fax from printer directly.

Good (but not great) small office printer

After retiring my former home office printer (from another manufacturer), I was eager to find a printer that was not only reliable, but could also deliver a bit more functionality than standard small-business models to meet my business' needs, including: - Fast (and not-so-loud) printing; - Automatic document feeder (ADF) that can accommodate a large document; and, - Ledger size (11" x 17") capacity.
Much to my surprise, the set-up was fairly easy and printing went smoothly. Even large jobs were free of any problems.
That said, I was disappointed that I (like another reviewer) cannot seem to print emails from my Outlook program without considerable difficulties. (A request to Brother support was answered promptly but basically said it was an Outlook problem.) Also, when I went to copy (or scan) a multi-page, double-sided document, I received a pop-up notice that the ADF cannot support double-sided copying or scanning. That is, any multi-page document requires page-by-page, side-by-side copying/scanning. That kinda stinks, especially for a small business.
Otherwise, the ink seems to go far - much longer than our previous printer - and I've been quite satisfied with everything else for the past four months.

Powerfull Printer

I had to reinstall the software a few times to get the printer to interface with my PC through WiFi. I don't know if it was a Windows 10 issue or not. Once was due to a lack of my PC not connecting after a Windows 10 update was installed. Instead of trying to figure out the problem, I got impatient and reloaded the software. That's the way I roll. It's not that hard to do anyway. Now everything works fine. I don't need all of the features sine I am a casual user. I just want the large scan area to scan various documents to reduce having to file paper. I am horrible at filing paper, but very organized with digital filing. I also was attracted to the low ink usage as compared to other printers. This printer has more features for the price than any other printer. I did a lot of research from magazine reviews to customer reviews and this printer sold me hands down. So far I am pleased after getting through the initial software issues. It takes a little time to print after sending the print request, but it isn't bad. The print and scan quality is real good. Scanned PDF files are much smaller in size than my last printer. So overall I am satisfied. I'll be using it for college when school starts this fall. That is when I'll use it the most for printing.

Great for our small office

We needed a more robust color printer for our small office. This printer fits the bill as it was affordable and it does everything we need...fax, scan, copy and print. It's fast, quiet (except when a scan is done and it has a loud chime, which I've set to LOW) and efficient. I've only had it a few weeks but the print is great and it doesn't seem to devour ink.
