I replaced an older Brother multi-functions printer with the J6935DW and I am very impressed by both the speed and the quality.

Great printer for the price

This printer does everything quickly. Dual paper trays are a big plus, one for letter size and one for tabloid size beats anything out there. The large flatbed scanner and document feeder handle up to 11x17 paper and ink replacement is quite reasonable.

I've done ledger, card stock, envelopes, and standard paper almost simultaneously -- handled it all really well. Good color, responsive, great features such as scanning and 2 sided copying in a single pass. A great workhouse for my office!

Great printer! Great scanner!

Fast printer and scanner. Quickly wakes up when "asleep" and gets to work. Pages print quickly - even when 2-sided. It easily attached to our WI-FI network. We share it with other computers and mobile devices for both printing and scanning. My only complaint is the bundled software. This comes with a version of PaperPort that seems several years old. (Copyrighted from 2015 and earlier.) The Brother scanning utilities are confusing to me - not very intuitive. I've given up on trying to use them and just use the PaperPort software or some other imaging software that will connect directly with the scanner. (Just a minor complaint not worthy of taking a star away.)

It has a big foot print, but love its versatility and the ink system. Wi-Fi works great with all my devices, PC, iPads, & cell phones!

pretty much no fuss well priced printer, good features for a compact machine. copy quality can be low but printing is fine, good prompts when it jambs, doesnt like full one color pages tends to jamb . Im a Professional designer so it gets a hiding! will be getting another

Disappointed

Based on early reviews, I paid a premium price for what was thought would be a premium printer. I am disappointed. Almost every time I try to print, I get a warning that my MFC-J6935DW "Cannot print to the networked printer Please check the following:" I then have to shut down the machine and restart it, wait until it reestablishes a connection to my network, and then continue to wait unit it shows "Receiving data." Print quality is mediocre at best. I print a lot of CAD images and I cannot get consistent line quality no matter how many times I run the alignment utility. Every print contains jagged lines that should be straight. One of the big selling points of this series of printers was low ink cost. That has not been my experience. My MFC-J6935DW uses a lot more ink than I expected and it uses a lot of colored ink even though at least 95% of my prints are set to "Grayscale print." If there's a black ink only option, I haven't been able to find it. I use the scanner infrequently, but the reflective scanner pad on the underside of the AFD is already badly wrinkled and deformed. If I want to upgrade my software or firmware I have to agree to allow Brother to extract "data" from my machine. What kind of data they're collecting and what they're doing with it isn't clear in their privacy policy. I was loyal to another printer brand for almost thirty years. When their product quality fell off I decided to try Brother. In general, all brands of printers are notorious for poor quality and unreliability. It's possible that the early positive reviews of the MFC-J6935DW created expectations that were too high. I guess I'll have to keep looking.

Definitely Should Consider

The Brother MFC-J6535DW is great for small business and functions to exactly what we need. The downfall that we have is that after downloading Windows 11, some of the printers are unable to scan from the machine to the pc. Otherwise everything is great.
