Only Bosch Product NOT to Buy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have built or remodeled several homes and I have always installed all Bosch appliances and been very happy with them. This is the exception to that rule. The oven is only 1 year and 7 months old and has totally died. I am extremely disappointed - especially after reading all of the reviews which suggest that this product has had quality issues for several years. There are also several glaring design flaws - the microwave is very deep and difficult to clean. The option for a side opening door is a must. The control panel lighting is so faint it is difficult to read and the alarm is barely audible. This is a poor product and design for such a good company.

Control Panel and display does not light up

Can’t get the hang of the speed oven

This oven is great in the microwave mode, the convection mode, but I have yet to get the hang of the speed oven. Is there a step-by-step cook book or recipe section on the internet. Most of the food I have prepared in the speed oven mode is undercooked.

Faulty control board

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014-2015 and installed this microwave/speed oven along with a wall oven and induction cooktop. Both the speed oven and the regular oven needed to have their control boards replaced within 2 years. Stopped working. The technician commented that this is a very common issue. (insert eye roll emoji here) Now this microwave has stopped working again. It tripped the breaker. The electrician came to inspect and found out the issue is with the unit and not the breaker. There is a "short" of some kind. We now have to have another appliance repair on this appliance next week. If I could do it over again, I would not purchase. I do use the convection part often and that is nice not needing to heat up the larger oven. Able to fit a 8x12 pan. With that being said, it is a lot of money to spend on new appliances to have them need constant repair $$$
