A microwave oven with major quality issues!

I am very disappointed in the quality of this appliance, and some of its functionality. After 3 years of mild use (maybe once per day), the control buttons have rubbed off, and the LCD display is unreadable.
The LCD and the motherboard failure seem to be common problems with this microwave model, after reading a number of reviews on-line. The button issue - not sure what to say. It is very annoying.
Unlike the matching oven, assembled in the USA, this microwave was Made in Shunde - China.
Another issue which is quite annoying is that the alarm bell is so quiet, that it is practically useless. Another poor design choice. I was expecting a lot more from a Bosch product, and thus would certainly not recommend this model to anyone. I have serious concerns about the entire brand, too.

Looks good, stopped working after 10 months,

Bought unit because it is saving space, worked well for about 10 months then stopped working because of it tripped the house breaker each time we closed the door panel. Tech thought it was the micro switch, now he thinks it is the computer board. The timer alarm is barely audible and can't be adjusted. Unit gets condensation easily which causes some rust spots inside that are difficult to clean.
The unit looks good though but I would not buy it again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor design and manual

Am happy with rest of my Bosch kitchen, but the Speed Oven leaves a lot to be desired. The design puts forth only a feeble ring even if set up to highest setting. The preheat bars are barely visible even if set up to highest setting. As a former technical writer, the manual makes assumptions on the part of the user and therefore is missing steps. Writers should be advised to test every one of their instructions and not assume the user knows anything. I am very disappointed with this unit and hope that it might be replaced with a redesign.

Stopped working after 1.5 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved this microwave until it just stopped working after about a year and a half. We had a local technician try to repair it - he ordered new control panel parts, etc. - but he couldn't get it repaired. This is frustrating because it seems to be happening to a lot of people where it stops working right after the warranty expires.

DO NOT BUY - design defects

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As many others have stated, there is a major design defect. The door latching and safety switch system will fail quickly. My failed in month 13 of our 12 month warranty. I've replaced the switch several times but it keeps failing. It may be that the cheap plastic parts are warping and causing the switches to not sequence correctly, it may be that the massive flex in the door triggers the switches in a wrong sequence. Either way, many have had this problem and you will too probably.

GARBAGE!!!

Just like the other reviews mentioned, this is a piece of junk with a big nametag on it. Two years old, ordered replacement panel (not cheap) and still doesn't work. I do NOT recommend this product. Lesson learned!!!
