Real Problematic Microwave

This is extremely unreliable microwave. I have three to four breakdowns in three years. Real lemon. Stay away from buying.

A little slow, but fine otherwise

The unit operates just fine, but it takes longer to heat items in the microwave compared to microwaves I've had in the past. We purchased it thinking it operated as a full, albeit small oven too. But have since realized it is a small broiler too, and not a baking oven. The heat comes from the top only. Our bad for not reading the fine print.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bosch Customer Service is the worst!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Bosch replaced a GE Microwave, that I had for 20 years... with no problems!! 2 years of owning this it broke!! It doesn't work!! Called Bosh Repair, the only appointment they had available was in 3 weeks, so I took it! 3 weeks came and they were a NO-SHOW!! I had to call them to find out they were not coming, and the only time they had for a tech to come out was in 3 weeks... UPSET to say the least!! Spending all that money for a BOSCH, and it breaks, and takes over 2 months to come and fix it!! STILL WAITING!! FYI SUBZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE BEST!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Expected More

This is our 2nd Bosch 800 series microwave. The 1st unit had problems with the door micro switches. The 3rd time it failed, more was wrong. Too costly to repair. Had to purchase the another exact same one due to In cabinet dimensions. For the price we paid for the 1st high end Bosch, would have thought it should be better and last longer. Hope my second unit last longer. Good thing I had a 5 year warranty on the 1st unit. Anyway I hope my unit last much longer than 4 years. I paid for quality...so far I'm not impressed with Bosch Appliances.

Terrible quality

I really wish I could love this microwave oven. I have replaced several parts one of which was covered under warranty as it failed right out of the box. I thought that spending more money for a quality product would lead to longer appliance life. Not with this product.

Interior stains on walls

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MODEL!

We've always been happy with our Bosch appliances but this model is horrible. Purchased in May, 2017 we immediately had difficulty opening and shutting the door. Had to use both hands on handle to get it open. After a little oer a year of mild use (just two of us) it broke. A plastic piece broke where the door latch enters the unit and it triggers the electrical system in the microwave/oven to stop. The repair person said that he has seen this A LOT. $320 repair...who knows why Bosch uses a small piece of plastic as part of the door latch! Well, guess what? Here we are one year later and the same thing just happened again! Unfortunately my husband refused to buy a warranty trusting the "high quality" of Bosch products so we are out of luck. Rather than drop another $320 for a piece of plastic we are going to purchase a different model and get a warranty this time. Another issue is that the alarm bell is so quiet it is useless. I expect more from Bosch.

Microwave venting.

Purchased a new home with this unit plus oven below already I stalled. The only venting goes out into the room. There is no out side venting so all odors are blown into the interior. The last home I had had a microwave with a vent on top and a vent tube that went up through a cabinet to the roof. It sucked out odors from the microwave and stove and oven. The selection panel on the Bosch is great. You barely have to touch it and start it. Also very quiet. Looks great too. I was told by a Bosch rep that these microwave/oven combos don't have outside venting.
