[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is multiple appliances in one ... toaster oven, sensor cook, broiler, convection, micro (the latter two can operate simultaneously). Sensor heating/cooking is nearly miraculous. Put food in and it comes out ready to eat. The “oven” features have cook timer so it will shut off after swt time. I will use this appliance for much of my cooking. Everything promised and I’ve only begun to use it.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We purchased the speed oven combo unit in 2016. It sat in the house until the kitchen was reno's were completed in the summer of 2017. We had the unit installed and right from day one we noticed that the display was dimly lit. Unfortunately, the manufacturer's warranty ran out by 7 days. Anyways here we are in the fall of 2019 and the display just died. We got 2 years of functionality for 2 thousand dollars. I guess I should be grateful that it lasted for 2 years.
While it worked it was fantastic and it was totally worth 5 stars, however, a 2-year life expectancy makes it worth only 2 stars for long term reliability.
Often I feel like some reviews are written too quickly. I also think reviews are very helpful in others making choices so here is mine. We purchased our speed oven in combo with the wall oven. We use them both all the time and love the functionality and versatility as we are always in our kitchen cooking. Speed Oven good stuff: Really great for small amounts of cooking using convection and even the pizza setting. Very efficient. Also great for microwave and using the broiler. Sometimes you just don't want to heat up the big oven to toast some nuts, etc. All the displays and functionality are still great and nothing has diminished. The "not so great" stuff: Right off the bat the cooling fan was loose so it was making a huge racket. Bosch came in (twice) and got it all repaired (replaced parts) so their responsiveness was terrific. Annoying a new machine had two broken parts but that's how it was. Since then, we are still good. I learned quickly that the design makes it challenging to clean. I looked up online how to clean a stainless steel interior and learned about using a baking soda paste. So far I've done this twice (in 2 1/2 years) and I think if you don't let it get too bad, it restores the oven to near perfect condition. Auto defrost is not useful at all so I just quess at timing and power level and that does the job when I need it. Sensor reheat just goes way beyond reheated so you have to watch it and turn it off when you see things are ready. Have to admit any microwave I've used in the past did that so doesn't bother me too much. Here's a tip for anyone installing. I am 5 feet tall so I was worried about my speed oven being mounted too high because we had the wall oven under it. I went to the store where it was on display and figured out the optimum height for me so I could reach in to the back. So glad I did because I had it installed 2 or 3 inches lower than the specs. If you are tall, then you probably don't have to worry about that. Hope this helps and you are successful in getting a good unit. Seems like there are some lemons out there.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the Bosch 800 series speed oven. I'm still learning how to use it. The only drawback so far is that I have trouble reaching the back the wall to wipe away splatter. It looks and works great!
Just like the other reviews mentioned, this is a piece of junk with a big nametag on it. Two years old, ordered replacement panel (not cheap) and still doesn't work. I do NOT recommend this product. Lesson learned!!!
Just had this unit installed to replace both a large toaster oven and microwave in our new kitchen. So far it works fantastic but we were disappointed that it has limited defrost settings. We can only select meat options with a minimum weight of 0.5lbs. The mainly defrost bread products that we keep frozen which we use to defrost with a weight value of 0.1lbs. Still trying to figure out a work-around.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very fucnctional microwave and is pretty powerful. I like it overall but there are some things I would change. First the clock is so small you can't read it unless you are right on top of it. This goes for how long is left to cook, etc. The 'food is done' alarm is very quiet. You can't hear it unless you are very near the unit. Again overall it works great and easy to use but there could be some better ergonomic changes that would make it better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved this microwave until it just stopped working after about a year and a half. We had a local technician try to repair it - he ordered new control panel parts, etc. - but he couldn't get it repaired. This is frustrating because it seems to be happening to a lot of people where it stops working right after the warranty expires.
