Doesn't work

The day I plugged it in it started to randomly turn on and run through programs on its own. Would try to preheat, and once preheated it would turn off and then turn into "demo mode" until it was unplugged and reset.

Constantly breaking!

We have purchased two of these microwaves/convection ovens in the last 5 years and both have malfunctioned multiple times - the latest one just broke last week. We had our cabinets custom built to fit this unit and I don't want a buy a third microwave! Do not buy this product!

We bought the Benchmark series and dishwasher when we built a custom kitchen in 2015. All of the appliances have performed well except the speedoven. It has been plaqued with problems but Bosch has provided excellent customer service. It needed a new control panel and door switches shortly after the warranty expired. Bosch immediately authorized the appliance service to replace at no cost.
The door switches needed replacing again this year and I went ahead and got it serviced. Unfortunately, the door switches needed to be replaced three months later. Bosch informed me that the parts have a one-year warranty but I wanted labour costs to be covered as well. The customer service department worked with me and I was able to have the labour costs reimbursed. Overall, I think Bosch Canada has dealt with the speed oven issues very fairly especially since the series will be five years old.

Control Panel Lighting is dim.

I had purchased this oven in a precious house and loved it. The control panel light worked perfectly for 3 years then just dimmed for no reason. I purchased this again for our new house and the control panel lighting was way too dim to see. Asked for a new control panel and got the same result. Repairman said that it is bacause the wall oven is made in the US and the speed oven is made in China. Bosch, you need to fix this ASAP!

Sleek but noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed this a few months ago and while it has performed well on microwave, bake and broil my unit has developed a very annoying sound only when microwaving. We most frequently use this as a microwave, it hums like normal but also has a very loud rattling sound that has developed. Hoping this isn't normal bc it makes the appliance sound cheap and frankly the complete opposite of how it looks.

Best kitchen appliance so far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned few properties and many appliances over the year but Bosch 800 series microwave/convection over is over the top in fit finish, quality and functionality. I wish we purchased this sooner. I did purchase 5 year extended warranty and having extra assurance is healthy. Install and ease of use is phenomenal. I wish it had smart integration which would make life easier as well as soft close feature. I can see how you could damage product with some rough use.

Poor quality, multiple repairs

We purchased this microwave and within a year had to replace the door switch. Within a year of replacing the switch, it is once again malfunctioning. We have read many reviewers complaining of the same problem on multiple websites. Bosch has not listened and re-designed this switch (located where the door latch connects into the unit). We also agree with other reviewers that you can barely hear the timer go off. Our Bosch dishwasher timer is very loud and persistent. AND now a SECOND problem has begun, again multiple reviewers are complaining of the same problem, the lighted control panel on the microwave has become very dim. We can barely see it. We are extremely unhappy with this purchase!! We bought all upper-end Bosch appliances when we remodeled our kitchen 3 years ago. We are warning our friends to avoid this microwave when!

I HAVE MY THIRD IDENTICAL OVEN, ONLY BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY OVEN TO FILL THE HOLE IN THE CUSTOM CABINETRY. BOSCH DROPS THE BALL ON THIS MODEL!
