During my search for a medieval castle structure for my son, it became apparent rather quickly that the options were extremely limited. The Melissa & Doug Castle was easily the best of the bunch, supported by a strong brand whose products I enjoy, although I felt that detail could have been much better overall. I would honestly rather pay a little bit more money for a more detailed and colored castle than this one which is somewhat plain. Nevertheless, the product is sturdy and well-made, as far as I can tell, providing endless hours of imaginary fun for my toddler. Lastly, based solely on personal preference, I am not a fan of the detached, removable sentry.

Very cute, grandkids love it, but only because I bought knights and princess characters that can be used with it. The castle comes with no characters of furniture etc. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because the top on the front left tower was barely glued on and fell off when touched. It has only been played with a couple of times, and I hope the quality of the rest of the castle will remain good.
