The built-in has been a lemon

The microwave was exactly what we wanted for our new home. We bought it and had it installed. It worked for only a year before it broke down the first time... just outside of the warranty window. We've owned it for 5 years now and have had to have it fixed 3 times. With this last time that we have fixed the microwave, we have officially spent more on diagnostics, parts and labor than we originally spent on the microwave. It is not worth the money to turn around and pay for it again within 5 years. Don't waste your time or money on purchasing a bosch microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Average Microwave for the Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bosch built-in microwave is average at best. Many foods cook unevenly, especially bacon and popcorn. We are currently having issues with it sparking/arcing and being hyper-sensitive to microwaveable packaging. Hoping if we replace the waveguide this will solve the issue. Unsure if this is a frequent issue with their microwaves or if we have a one-off issue.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Absolute CRAP

We bought a new home 5 years ago and had a choice of Whirlpool or Bosch appliances. I always thought Bosch was top quality. Boy was I wrong. The door spring on our builtin microwave broke after 2 years. You can't just replace the spring, you have to replace the entire door (over $300). Now 2 years later the wave guide cover has crapped out and we are told we need to buy a new microwave. Five years and the microwave has to be replaced. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. Bosch should be ashamed to produce products that do not live up to their hype. I will NEVER purchase another Bosch produce.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Microwave

Replaced our 17 year old microwave with this Bosch model. Easy to program and cooks well. Two things need attention, the alarm is barely audible and the timer is difficult to set, it wants run past the target time quickly when depressed up ot down. Give it a good rating for being very quiet and having plenty power. Happy overall and reccomend this appliance.
