Good but overpriced

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The microwave is part of an over/under stove combo. It looks great and works well. We recently had to replace the original microwave (5 years old) and wanted to keep the look. I thought 5 years wasn't a very impressive lifespan for a microwave. Also, as the middle of the road version (500 series), it was about 10x more expensive than a comparable countertop microwave.

Impressive Experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit right before thanksgiving as I had a 20 year GE unit go out and no part available. I was rather nervous and lost sleep for a few nights. The unit was delivered and installed the day before thanksgiving and it is beautiful. The day of Thanksgiving I roasted my turkey and as that was sitting I was able to bake 2 9x13 pans, 1 9x9 pan, 1 sheet pan of roasted potatos with room to spare. This oven has more space than my previous unit. The unit is quiet and gives me everything I can expect and more. The microwave is also quiet and heats/melts/defrosts perfectly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Extremely Happy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had to replace our built in microwave so decided to replace both the microwave and oven. There are so many options out there but we ended up choosing the Bosch 500 Series. Of course we were nervous about this unit as we had a reliable unit for 20 years. The next day after install was Thanksgiving and wow, this unit blew away all my expectations. I was able to cook everything at one time which I could not do with my old unit. I then did all my Christmas baking 2 weeks later and wow, this made my job much easier to bake more sheets of cookies at one time. I am extremely happy with my choice of Bosch.

Great Microwave and Oven

Very veratile. Great temperature control in the oven. Nice control panels. Excellent featues.

Quiet Beeps and Noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using our new Microwave-Wall Oven Combo for about 6 weeks. We bought this to replace an ~15 year old Bosch Wall Oven combo when the microwave crapped out. Our intention of sticking with a Bosch unit was to get a very similar size combo oven to avoid any cabinet rework. Although the spec information for the new oven showed it would be the same size, it actually turned out to be 2 inches shorter, so we now have a gap at the bottom after placing the unit on boards to raise it to avoid a gap at the top.
Functionally, both the microwave and oven units work as you expect. We do like the physical knobs to set the oven (bake/broil/convention and temperature) - I considered this a good selling point. The digital displays are clear and intiutive. However, a few things to note that may make you think twice about buying this product: 1) the unit is noisey when the oven is on. There is an exterior fan that runs and is very noticeable from a noise prespective and you feel it when you're close to the unit. We didn't have this in our previous Bosch unit so we are somewhat annoyed having to listen to it when using the oven. 2) this unit does take some time to heat up, and it doesn't have a fast pre-heat mode. 3) when using the microwave, the beep/alarm to signal that it's done is too too quiet. It comes with a setting to adjust the beep, but even on the loudest setting, it is very difficult to hear. (others have noted this as well). 4) the microwave door opens like an oven door. So for short people, they may have trouble reaching in the unit, especially to clean it. Unfortunately other brands have chosen to go with this type of door opening as well. Why? 5) the unit is NOT fingerprint resistant. This really surprised us and we're disappointed in Bosch on this, especially given the cost of the unit.
Overall, for the price we paid and now knowing what we do know, I probably would have gone with a less expense brand.

Buyer Beware

We first got one of these durring a kitchen remodel in 2019, by 2020 the unit's display was dimming and the wave guard was failing and they replaced the entire unit under warranty. Then on the replacement unit the wave guard failed in 2023 and the screen was dimming, and now I have just had to replace the fuse inside it twice and the door switches. This is a poorly designed product with low quality parts that will fail and I would highly recomend not buying one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
