Not as expected

We recently had this model installed and already had to call for service because of the dim lights on the control panel. That's when I learned that the dim lights are a factory setting and can't be changed. The same is true of the chimes that you can barely hear when the timer is complete. Had I known of these problems I would not have purchased this microwave. Also, food takes longer to heat than in our countertop model that was also 950 watts.

3.5 years old only owned it for 3 and I can't use it! Sparking almost to flames when certain food items are cooked. No no metal is near. Popcorn, hot dogs are just a couple of items. You never know when you place something inside what is going to happen. It's a wait and see. Afraid it will catch on fire! Extremely disappointed.

Disappointing

We moved into a house with a newly remodeled kitchen. We were excited about having Bosch appliances as we had heard good things about them. One month after moving in, the microwave (only 13 months old, and only in use for approx 6 months) started sparking. Our home warranty covered the repair cost to install a new capacitor. A year later the microwave started sparking again and we contacted a Bosch certified repair person. This time the magnatron, diode and capacitor again need to be replaced. This repair costs approximately half of what the microwave is worth. In addition, the display screen is not working properly as it is very difficult to read. Super disappointing as we either have to fix it or replace the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Garbage

Just had this installed in new kitchen only to find out that the panel display is considerably more dim than practical to see and more dim than other Bosch appliances installed beneath. To my surprise when I went online to verify I was changing the settings correctly I found that this is a fairly common issue and that a control panel will need to be replaced. That would have been good to know before we bought it. Certainly would have preferred that Bosch just sell the unit with a functioning control panel. Don't waste your money.

Poor Quality

Quite working after 1.5 years and it was used lightly.. Gives off a sound like a transformer failure. Is BOSCH trying to succeed off of name only. Past microwaves I've own have lasted 10 years or more. What is the deal BOSCH? What are my options?

Don’t buy
on November 13, 2023

Control board had to be replaced with in the first year. Luckily it was under warranty. Now it is arching and can't be fixed and is only 6 years old.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roomy and heats up food quickly and evenly.
