Announcer Voice prompt unbearable!
on March 25, 2022

The voice samples are incredibly and unnecessarily loud (while being completely unnecessary in the first place), and the fact that you cannot turn it off is just so stuopid for an audio product. It will interrupt whatever you are currently listening to to tell you it is “CHARGING” in a booming voice that overlays ANYTHING you are listening to, causing you to both miss a few seconds of audio (which you may not be able to relisten to which is another issue altogether), and blast your ears if you are otherwise on a quiet late night listen. This voice prompt CANNOT be turned off or volume-adjusted. WHY would you make an audio product but then OBLIGE the listener to this prompter and completely remove control over this audio experience?! HOW important can this announcement be so that it will ignore EVERYTHING else you might be using the speaker for, to impose its completely unnecessary message to you, and do it in a voice that disrupts, disturbs and interrupts EVERYTHING? If it were a car, it’s as if it would brake every time it has feedback for you…, just imagine that for a sec… Dumbest design decision ever…

We are sorry to hear this. The speaker is designed to alert you to the function it is performing. If the speaker is plugged in, it will alert you that it is charging. The speaker contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that works much like a cell phone battery. Leaving the speaker plugged in can diminish the lifespan of the battery. We recommend fully charging the speaker, then using the speaker until the battery is depleted then recharging. Please return the product to the place of purchase if it does not meet your needs. We appreciate your feedback and have passed your comments on the appropriate team.

Big sound, small package but...

The voice prompt and the fact that its volume can't be changed, it can't be deactivated, it interrupts playback to tell you it's charging AND the fact that it's not part of any firmware that is modifiable is really the biggest caveat of an otherwise good sounding speaker. It really is a major design flaw. Many report a failing mini USB port, but mine is permanently plugged in so I cannot report on any weakness in that regard.

Impressed by the craftsmanship, and the sound capability. Especially from such a small profile. Looks fantastic in our kitchen. Sustainable materials is a big plus and portability just puts it over the edge. So happy with my gift purchase and so is my recipient.

I do not recommend this product. I had it less than 2 years and when it’s plugged in to charge, the speaker does not charge and a repetitive voice constantly informs you that it is charging. It is stuck in a loop and is absurdly annoying to hear. Don’t be fooled by this product.

Got this speaker about a year ago was fairly happy with it as nice looking speaker and sound quality was good . Except the hiss sounds when on low volume , plus if the volume too low on aux input it the sound cuts in and out . Dont get me started on the lady who shouts out charging . I had this plugged into my computer and didnt ever move it from the desk and only used it very mininal over the year . Now it dosent seem to charge and the red light just flashes .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the speaker for about 2 years now, amazing speaker. Until the charging port broke, I can’t charge it at all now because the pins inside are broken.
