Very nice mixer

I think this is a very nice mixer and I recommend it. It is sturdy, powerful, and does a great job mixing and kneading. The bowl-shift lever allows you to move the bowl while mixing. I think this mixer is a great choice for the average household without spending big bucks. It is also very quiet, which is really nice. There is an overload feature so that the machine shuts off if the motor is overloaded, which is a good feature also.
Having a second, smaller bowl is a big advantage and if you buy this mixer, you should order the smaller bowl. I think the smaller bowl should have been included. I also think there should be an adjustment for the beater to bowl clearance, to solve the occasional problem of the bowl not spinning. Also, the instruction manual doesn't tell you anything about kneading bread, which is a shame since this machine does a nice job of that once you know how to do it (in other words, don't turn it up to high and just sit there and expect it to produce a loaf of bread).
Like all Sunbeam mixers, this machine is interactive, so you do have to work with the dough/batter and scrape, etc. I feel this is a plus, as you have more control over the mixing process and it's more fun than just turning on a machine and watching it. Again, a better instruction manual would help.
The bowls are not compatible with other Sunbeam mixers, which I don't understand. A glass bowl option would have been great. So, for these reasons I rated this a four-star rather than five star, but overall it's a very nice mixer and a great value if you get it on sale.

Better than expected!

After reading these reviews, I was skeptical, but now I am so glad I decided to purchase this mixer. The price was reasonable and so far the quality has been superb. We've made multiple batches of pizza dough, cookies & cakes. The attachments do not clank together and they mix the bottom of the ingredients properly. The bowl also rotates as it should. We are looking forward to using it for a long time to come! It's also good to know Sunbeam has quality customer service if something does go wrong.

I bought this years ago but I just used this for the 1st time last dec. 2014. i was so confident that I did not try it at once knowing that this brand is very familiar with me since my old Sunbeam Mixer is excellent whenever I use it specially in beatinfg the eggwhites. This model doesn't beat well leaving the eggwhites watery even beatinf it after several minutes. Another problem is I cannot remove the beaters & the bowl since the body does not tilt down. Is tit possible if I can still return or exchange it. I asked already different people to help me tilt the body but still nothing happened. I am now leaving outside US & it's so hard for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Mixer!

After reading the negative reviews about this mixer, I was somewhat hesitant to purchase one. My old Sunbeam Stand mixer (30 years old) was just starting to go and I was approaching Christmas Cookie baking time ..I decided to take a chance and ordered the Heritage Series mixed ... I preferred all of the speed settings on the dial. My new mixer was delivered right in the middle of making my first several batches of cookies ... a perfect time to test it out. I was not disappointed at all. It's much quieter than my old one, works beautifully ... only one complaint --- the electric cord is too short ... I had to put an extension cord I mix on my big counter so it isn't close to the outlet ... I would have liked if the small bowl was included with the purchase ... its perfect for whipping egg whites ... I put my old small bowl inside the new larger one and did it that way. I'm waiting for the small bowl to become available on line again. I would definitely recommend this mixer. In fact, I already talked my sister-in-law into buying this one instead of the other much more expensive, larger and heavier mixer.

I don't understand how this is suppose turn.

I couldn't get my beaters to lock in so they sent me a new mixer. They still are a problem to lock in. What I don't understand is how this is suppose turn when your mixing. it turns sometimes and stops. I feel like I could cause damage to the motor by forcing it. My other Sunbeam mixer the bowl locked in and turned, I could turn it on and walk away. Not happy with this model at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this last year before Christmas Baking. I absolutely love it! Great value and quality. I didn't want to spend the $$$ for the 'other' one. This may not have all the extra's that the other one has, but it's a great alternative for 1/2 the cost. Also, the people who complain it doesn't turn must not have read the directions. The rotating speed depends on where you have it and the consistence of your dough. I haven't has any issues with the rotation.
