The Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer is a great mixer! It was nice to have my hands free to add ingredients. It was simple to use and all the ingredients mixed well, due to the rotating bowl. The mixer is lightweight and not too bulky which makes it easy to store. Baking was much easier using this machine. I did receive this mixer as a sample to review, I thought it worked great and would be worth the money.
I received the Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer in red. It's a sharp looking mixer, very smooth design and very modern. My husband did state that with the design of the handle, the mixer reminds him of a flash light and I have to agree with the big circular knob at one end. The large 4 quart mixing bowl is silver metal, adding to the sleek design.
During my first attempt to place the beaters in the machine to use it took almost 10 minutes to successfully insert the beaters. I repeated the process several time and got much better at this, however I do think inserting the beaters can be a pain. I have used the other two dough hooks without these issues.
The spinning bowl on this mixer is too cool. It allows for you to be able to move the bowl where there may be food not getting in the mix without digging for a spatula and stopping the machine. The bowl sits slightly off center so you can easily add food while it's mixing. There is also a button at the bottom that works as a slider so the bowl can be moved during use. That's a really nice feature to have that the competition does not have. The stand mixer has 12 speeds for almost any kind of mixing your heart desires. It is loud, but I think all stand mixers are when in use. Clean up is a breeze with most components being dishwasher safe.
I think this product overall functionality for a person who does light baking, such as me, this is a great functioning product. Besides inserting the beaters, it functions well, mixes well and serves it's purpose in a significantly cheaper way than similar competitors.
I was not pleased at all with the Sunbeam Mixmaster Heritage Series stand mixer. I tried three different store bought mixes – brownie, gingerbread cookie, and snickerdoodle cookie – and each time I had to help the mixer out. I thought the point of a stand mixer was so that you wouldn’t have to mess with it. *I did follow the user manual instructions that the “mixer is designed to be off-center” with the large bowl and that was how I started. However, when I turned it on, the beaters would spin but only the batter in the immediate vicinity was touched, and not really moved. I had to manually spin the bowl or move the bowl selector lever from side to side to make the dough mix. I would have been much better off with a hand mixer or doing it myself with a fork! A few other notes… the label on the bottom of the stand mixer with its name was upside down. I’ve not used other stand mixers but it doesn’t seem very intuitive. The button on the top of the handle is to eject the beaters but to me (and my mother-in-law who was cooking with me) it should be to raise and lower the mixer head. That is just naturally where I went to do it before reading the buttons. Note: I received this mixer for review purposes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for taking the time to write in this review. I am sorry to hear that the mixer did not meet your expectations. On the stand mixers all turntables are free-wheeling and must be turned by hand. The bowl spins on a freely spinning base by the nylon tip of the cone shape beater. The bowl may need to be nudged with your hand to encourage it to spin.
I have had this mixer for a few months now. I was pleasantly surprised by that the casing is metal, not chintzy plastic as so many other (affordable) mixers are. I had wanted a stand mixer for some time but I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. I also wanted the mixer to actually be functional, easy to use, not weigh so much that it wasn't easily moveable if I needed to store it in a cupboard, but at the same time "pretty" if it is left out on the counter. After giving this mixer a run for it's money I can say that it fit the bill. We have used it for multiple batches of brownies and cookies. My son used it to make a batch of biscotti. Not too mention the dips it helped create for the big football "bowl" game this month. It has plenty of power to mix smoothly, shifts speeds easily. The beaters and dough hooks are a breeze to gey in and out. The metal mixing bowl stays put right where you want it. The feet on the mixer keep it secure on the countertop but without leaving bits behind, or leaving black smudges as other appliances have done. I was given this mixer to test, and I am glad that I get to keep it. If I did have to give it back I would be going to get another one. For the price and the function you can't beat it.
I love my new Sunbeam mixer. I used it twice so far and it's great! I made a brownie mix and a cookie dough. I loved the fact that this model lets you allow to adjust the bowl position, so that I was able to slowly add the ingredients when needed. A little issue I had was that when the mix batter gets thick, I had to use the spatula to move the batter more towards the middle of the bowl, but it wasn't terrible. It would have been nice if the bowl had a handle, but this was also a minor issue that I had when it was time to pour the mixes into the pan. Overall, this mixer does its job and I'm very happy. I received this product as a sample to review for free from Sunbeam. Although I received this product for free, my opinion for this review is 100% and my own opinion is based on my experience that I had with this product.
The Sunbeam Heritage mixer is not only pretty to look at (and the red is beautiful!!) but also works amazingly well. I have friends who have always wanted a Kitchenaid mixer, but I have never understood the reasoning behind buying anything more than your basic mixer. I couldn't have been more wrong, and they couldn't be more wrong in thinking that they have to spend much more than the Sunbeam costs to get that quality. This mixer deserves 5 stars indeed! The Heritage Series is strong and durable, with a full metal body and attachments/beaters that make my old ones look like they were made of tin foil. The stainless steel mixing bowl has the same effect, sitting beside my old one it is like comparing a jalopy to a cadillac. Built for durability this mixer will last me forever. It works like a dream, and is pretty darn quiet, even on the highest settings. It gradually speeds up to the desired setting, so there are no bits of dough flying around your kitchen because you hit the wrong button. It has a nice large dial to choose your speed, and is easy to manage, even with a spoon or spatula in your hand. I tried various things to test it out, cookies, cakes, and breads - it handled all with ease. The lever below the bowl is fantastic for churning up the edges of your bowl that would usually require a spatula to get to. The only negative thing I can think of (and this is minor) is that the beaters have a piece of plastic that sits on the bottom of the bowl, placing the mixing are about a quarter of an inch above the bottom. With thicker doughs, this leads to a layer that the beaters never get to underneath them. I had to use a spatula to get this thin layer off the bottom of the bowl and mixed in. It was nothing major, no problem for me, just something to be aware of if letting the mixer blend on its own while completing another task. I received the mixer free as a sample to review, and couldn't be happier. I would never have known what I was missing if left to my own devices to purchase a cheap "basic" mixer like I have in the past.
Love love love my new Heritage Series Stand Mixer. It makes baking much more enjoyable. It frees up your hands so you can get other things prepped for the baking process. Love how easy this product is to use and clean up. I have the red mixer it's so sleek and modern looking. It looks great on my countertop. It's much more affordable than the other stand mixers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I gave the Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer a rating of 5 stars. I have used stand mixers in the past at a friend's house and my parents' house but I've never owned one until now. The Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer has exceeded all of my expectations. This mixer is easy to use, easy to clean, and has a variety of features that I have found to enhance my cooking and baking skills. There are numerous settings and speeds for any job at hand. My husband even used it! At first, I thought the Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer was like any other mixer. I was mixing cake batter at the time, but I soon discovered how much easier it was to let the mixer do the mixing. Hands free was the way to go!! I then wanted to try other things, so I've used it for homemade mashed potatoes, which came out lump free, pudding, cookies, and I even mixed bread dough this evening! Each thing came out better than expected. I just changed the setting and speed, and everything mixed perfectly. The only downside to the Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer is the weight. I've found it to be slightly heavy compared to some of my other small appliances. This aspect would NOT prevent me from recommending this product to others though. The Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer is a remarkable, innovative product that deserves the 5 star rating! I received this mixer as a sample, but I would definitely buy it in the store. It is worth every penny! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a new stand mixer!
