I really like the mixer except for the fact that it does not rotate the bowl well. It is supposed to increase rotation with the increase in speed; however, it stops rotating. This is very frustrating!

Thank you for sharing your review! On the stand mixers all turntables are free-wheeling and must be turned by hand. The bowl spins on a freely spinning base by the nylon tip of the cone shape beater. Poor performance

My children bought this for me as a Christmas gift 2 years ago . I used it 5 times and it wouldn't work after that. I brought it out today to try again and does not work. I thought just maybe I d get lucky. Sorry I gave my 33 year old mixer away could really use it

All Show, No Go

This looks great. It's good features stop there. The mixer comes with dough hooks but don't be silly enough to try and use them as the thing will almost come apart (the internal construction at the hinge from the top to the base appears to be made of plastic) and it will start to get that electrical smell and get very hot. (I was making 12 bagels at the time, not five loaves of wholemeal bread.)
It’s the worst kitchen appliance I’ve ever bought. It’s hardly even any good at general mixing; the bowl plate doesn’t automatically rotate, the beaters don’t reach the sides properly.
In a word: junk.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My mixer only last less than two years and it was used less than 15 times. Very disappointed because my mother had a Sunbeam mixer for more than 20 years and was used weekly.

I got a sunbeam about 40 years ago..lasted about 25 to 30 years..got a second one maybe 10 years ago..got 2 bowls, dough hook and wire beaters, wasn't as good as my first..but still fairly decent..worked fairly good..but this last one is a piece of junk to put it mildly..only one bowl, and just dough hook..bowls don't lock, nor do they spin..this one can't even cream soft. Cream cheese..and like another mentioned, not much difference in the low speed or the top..taking it back, if I have to spend $100 on a mixer..Will spend 75 to 100 more and get me a good one..the quality has gone so far down hill.

Run far, far away!

Terrible product with a terrible design; Sunbeam knows it, but won't make changes or stand behind the product. Plastic gears inside the mixer melt and make the mixer unrepairable, and I was just whipping frosting. I can't imagine how they advertise this could knead bread dough. Customer service said once it's past warranty, they won't do anything about it. Long ago Sunbeam used metal gears, now they are plastic. Kitchen Aid still uses metal gears, and that's why their mixers can actually mix. Sunbeam calling a product that can't mix a "mixer" is fraudulent. "Heritage Series Boat Anchor" would be a more truthful name. All this did was fill my kitchen with the smell of burning plastic. Keep the fire extinguisher close by, and the phone to make dinner reservations; you won't be eating a home cooked meal!
