Disappointed to see it go...

I bought this grill 5 years ago. It started rusting within the first year. I spray painted the coating with high heat rust-oleum spray. The insides rotted. I just dragged it to the curb for bulk. For as happy I was when it was first delivered, I am very sad to see it go. It was a conversation piece at every family party, and I cooked some great meals on it, but for as heavy duty as it is, the guts turned to brittle rust and I'll be looking for another grill.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Gas side rusted out after less then two years of use. Save your money

Pretty good at first

Purchased one great the first couple of years, both sides of charcoal and gas rotted through and cant find replacement charcoal grates for the bottom of the barrels paid a lot of $$ for this one had another grill smoker combo lasted way longer than this one will
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Longhorns grill combo

I bought this grill last summer and hate it! It's way too much work trying to keep the grates from rusting. We've only used it a few times because of it although we followed the video instructions to keep this from happening. Buying replacement stainless grates would be an option (at my expense) if I could find any that fit!! Totally diss

Just bought a second one

Made the mistake of leaving it on the rain without its cover. Heat tents holders corroded and failed. But after 5 years I bought a second one. Just installed the lava gasket and latches to make it better for the smoke to stay in as I did before. I would recommend. Just take care of it and it will last.

Very Versatile

I've had this grill for 3 years; have it plumbed directly to our residential propane tank. I got it to try smoking for the first time. It has been a great combo to learn about smoking. Plus you can do things on this combo that can't be done on other grills like smoking a ribeye for about 30 min, then reverse searing on the gas grill. Learn how to do this and that alone makes this grill worth it...Like most grills, it's steel, so it rusts. Big deal, hit it every now and them with some high temp black spray paint. And yes, replace the grates every few years. No more than I've had to do for any other grill, but what you get with this is a great combo. Well worth it for anyone who wants to try out smoking.

Solid Grill

I've had this grill 9 years and have had only one complaint. I hate the metal wagon wheels that originally come with the grill. They make it harder to move my longhorn around. No problem, I just changed them out with some pneumatic tires from Harbor Freight. Also, had to replace the cover plates for the propane grill and a grill cover only once. Other than the wheels and routine parts and maintenance, this is a solid grill and I enjoy using it.
