Bought about 6 months ago. Smoker and propane side both hold temp very well. I have noticed many people complain about rust on the propane side even though they keep it covered. Propane releases a lot of heat and moister when burned so if you spray the steel parts of the propane grill down in vegetable oil after each use it will prevent any rust from starting. I have run about 6 tanks of propane through it and there is not a speck of rust because of the constant oiling. Overall great grill but like anything else, you have to take care of it

I got this grill because I wanted a nice combo setup. After all the research I did this is the one that rated the best and does what I wanted. Will this setup smoke enough meet for a huge party, 10-15 people. Probably not. But you could do some smoking, and propane grilling and be all set. Does it cook enough for your single family yes. I smoked 2 slabs of baby back ribs and it filled up the smoker side perfectly. It's the perfect smoker/grill for someone who just wants to occasionally smoke meat. I did season the smoker before my first go.

I also got a charcoal fire box for the smoker fire box. This made it very easy to control the heat and it uses less lump charcoal to keep my temperature steady.

Painted started to burn off

First time using the charcoal the painted started to melt off. This is the third time I’ve used the grill. Grill is less than two weeks old!

Extra heavy frame but rest is cheaply made

The frame should last a life time but the rest wore out or rusted out in less than a year even though it was always under cover.

I have owned my longhorn combo for less than a year and the brackets that hold the heat tents up are falling a part, is this normal wear and tear or faulty equipment? I love this grill but the internals of the gas grill side are falling apart, which is extremely upsetting considering how much I paid for the product. I’m an avid griller and cook at least 3 meals a week on my grill. Cooking performance is only rated high because the food cooks well it’s just cheap parts on gas side.

Great until you need parts

This grill has worked great, but after 2 years I need to replace a lot of parts - none are available - ash tray, propane burner covers - pick another brand.

Pretty disappointed

Bought this grill almost two years ago, since then, temperature gauges broke, grill grate rusted out, grease tents rusted out, brackets that hold burners and grease tents rusted out,regulator doesn't work properly, ect. This is by far the worst grill we have ever owned, never should have bought the Longhorns. Our last grill lasted ten years, it was a char griller with smoker box, gas/charcoal.

Don't bother

The unit itself is well constructed and heavy duty I will give it that. However after only a couple uses the paint started peeling and is now rusting. The solution when I contacted service was to sand it down and paint it. I have had it for 3 months I should not be painting it already. And to add to it they wanted me to buy their paint, they could not even go so far as supplying a can to repair their junk.
