Rust trouble as well

I’ve had this grill for just over three years and do all can to maintain the integrity of the unit. I read the reviews about rust, but knew I’d be able to keep it covered and treat her well. Even after keeping it covered after every use and replacing covers, three times since purchase. The interior has been compromised by rust. The gas side the supports for the gas diffusers, have rusted in the middle one and I can only use the left or right burner or relegated to charcoal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Flexibility

We bought this 3 years ago and still going strong. I was skeptical initially but we had a need for a new propane grill and my offset smoker was over 10 years old. It has exceeded my expectations. I've read many of the reviews that are negative and don't seem to have those issues, but I keep to a regular maintenance schedule on it. I don't let ash sit in the firebox because it has the potential to start the rust process. I clean it and season it often and have no issues with rust so far. It sits on my deck year round and I keep it covered. So far so good. I can see getting 10 years out of this unit.
The reason I rated it a 4 rather than 5 is simply because it doesn't seal as well as it could. I do wish the smoke chamber was a bit bigger but I also understood the dimensions when I bought it.I plan to add a gasket to it to solve that problem which is an easy and inexpensive fix. We picked this up on sale and it was an economical solution to replacing both my offset and gas grill.
Love the versatility in being able to smoke then do a reverse sear with propane on the same grill.

Was expecting allot better craftsman ship for the money, cheap thin metal, does not last had mine avout a year and a half, kept covered with thier cover and gas side is literally falling appart
Definitely not what I expected.
The cast iron grates hold up well but as far as I'm aware they have since moved away from those.
Unable to get ahold of Customer service.
It was good for the short time it lasted

OK Joe Longhorn Combo Grill

I think the idea is good. The implemented product should be better. The issues are: The gas burners are way to hot even if one at its lowest is used. (Two burners at a lower btu would be much better for such a tiny cooking area.) That results in crematorium temps that will also cause rapid rustout and grill damage. The firebox seems to big compared to the Highlands puny firebox. The grease pan should be front removable by default. The side burner could use some beefy support in case it needs lifting at both ends. I think I will improve mine with non rustable high grade stainless burner covers and then get a grate, or half inch expanded metal to put some lava rock on to increase efficiency. The paint on any hot surface won't last, so I just make a habit of applying some vegetable oil on them. It is also a very bad idea to burn charcoal in direct contact with the grill sides. Use a basket or something like it. You should also try to avoid extremely hot fires. That charcoal grate with curved plate(for temporary smoke chamber charcoal grilling) can trap moisture and ash under it if you neglect thorough cleaning. Aside from that, it cooks OK.

I received this as a gift.
It seemed to check all of the boxes for a perfect outdoor cooking setup.

Propane side and side burner are good and have zero complaints about their functionality.
The side burner was assembled by our friends as Lowe's, they did not read the instructions and the side burner fell off. Warranty work handled all that and back to a fully assembled Grill
Side Note MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT SCREWS INSTALLING THE SIDE BURNER VALVE. THEY ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE REST.

For this being an Oklahoma Joe's product I expected the smoker to be ON Point. But it seems mass production has cut this down to just another mass produced smoker.
The Firebox to Smoker space is well out of proportion, so keep an eye on the size of your fires folks.
The smoker box is in two pieces and there are gaps all over the place.
Charcoal grate in for charcoaling is super low from the cook level.
The handle on my inlet vent for the fire box just fell off. No idea what was supposed to be holding that in place. (I'm getting it welded on permanently).

Look at the cute little smoke stack on the top. Why on the top? Who knows. None of the other smokers they produce have a smoke stack on the top?

I'm going to make this thing work as it is what I have and I can't afford something different.

RUST!

Does Oklahoma Joes stand behind their product? I have had my grill less than 2 years. RUSTTTTT. I have purchase 2 different Oklahoma Joes Grill covers. RUST!!!! its so bad that my propane grill doesn't work anymore. Propane runs even if i have both eyes off at this point.
I made some great Brisket on this rig, but would not recommend it to anyone! AT ALL

I bought this grill 2 years ago. It was good at first, but after 2 years it has completely rusted out from the inside on the gas grill side. Decent grill, just not worth the money if you'd like it to last. I do no recommend

Great Grill Combination for the price

Bought this grill about a year ago. I use it frequently and I clean it frequently. It's a very versatile grill/smoker. My only complaint about this grill is the drip pan. It is small and cleaning can be tedious. I lined the bottom with foil to avoid further issues. Both sides cook evenly as well. I keep it outside and covered and so far no rust either. Would recommend this grill for anyone looking for all of these options.
I would recommend this to a friend!
