Poor Assembly

I have had this smoker for right at a year now. The top of my exhaust vent has already broke off as well as the overall welding on the smoker has been unsatisfactory. Very disappointed with the quality of the smoker.

well made but do not last

I had this grill for approximately 4.5 years and it is not usable anymore. the gas burners are rusted and broke off. the fire box rusted with holes in the bottom and cannot lift the pit
using the supplied handle due to it broke. The pit did its job for a short period but for the price i would expect a better product.

We wanted something that we thought could be well made and heavy duty..10 minutes into putting it together and the weld broke..

Awesome Grill!

We purchased this grill about 3 years ago. Before this one we was lucky to get 2 years out of other grills before they would rust and almost fall apart. The only things I would change is; add gaskets to the smoker box and charcoal grill in order to keep the smoke and heat in. Also close the small vent between the charcoal and gas side.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Disappointed

I am on my third year now with this combo smoker/grill. The first year was great, the second year I had noticed rust starting at various locations around the unit, I quickly sanded the rust areas and applied high heat paint to stop the rust. Now I am in my third year and I have completely lost the supports that hold the heat tents as well as the heat tents to rust and deterioration. I have kept the unit covered as recommended.
The entire unit is rusting in several locations and the paint is pealing everywhere exposing the possibility of paint chips in the food. I am in the process of completely overhauling the unit so I will be able to get a few more years out of it. Extremely disappointed with this product.

Great all in one

I bought this grill/smoker at the beginning of the pandemic to give me something to do while on lockdown. This this has saved my sanity. We typically use the gas grill on weeknights and the smoker/charcoal grill on weekends and holidays. We use it 1-3 times a week. I live by the beach in CA, and we have humid, salty air constantly. I have had this over a year and have not had any rust issues. Yes, the paint on the bottom of the fire pit is showing wear, which is perfectly normal. I bought the branded cover from the parent company, and every morning after a cook I clean out the organic material (ash, charcoal, and/or wood) from the pit. Then I cover it until next use. Some weeks I'm using it so much it does not get covered. Season your smoker when you get it and every month or so after. I have smoked an 18 lb packer's brisket and 2 big pork butts. (Both were crowded with the water pan.) I've also smoked chickens, pork ribs, rack of lamb, prime rib roast, hatch chilis, tri tip, chuck roast, and Texas-style chili (in a cast iron dutch oven). I even did a pizza last night on a pizza stone on the gas side. Every cook has gotten rave reviews. Are there better smokers out there? Yes, but they cost 10x the price. There are no better smokers that do everything that this one does. For reference, I'm a welder/metal fabricator by trade, but didn't see the need to reinvent the wheel here. I might make a mod or two to it in the future, but I've run it completely stock up to this point. I do use a digital thermometer probe at the cooking grate level near the meat. I'm considering getting a second, regular Longhorn without the gas grill to run in tandem with this one for those holiday parties where this one is just a little crowded for all the people, but for a family or two, this is perfect. Bonus: the warming rack on top of the firebox works perfect for keeping your coffee warm on those long, overnight cooks. Buy this. Cook good food. Make friends. **PS: I love randomly walking by and stopping to crack the door and taking a good whiff of that smoky goodness from this thing. Good feels.

We have had ours for about three years and we are ordering another one. My husband loves it because it cooks so well. He has cooked the best meats he has ever cooked. It is dependable and we will keep using this same one.
