Great Compact Grill For The Family

The signature series 2-burner grill is a great value for the money! This item was sent as a free sample in exchange for my review, but it greatly passed all of my expectations. The grill was packaged very neatly in the box with no wasted space and no annoying zip ties or "things" to cut off. The instructions were super simple to follow and included roughly 24 steps and took me about two hours to fully build. The only issue I ran into was installing the metal drip pan because the screws didn't want to go in easily, but with a little extra effort they eventually went in. Other than those screws even the most unskilled person could build this grill in an afternoon. Once built the grill was gorgeous! The chrome lining, the steel grates, and the black accents around the lid are very nice touches. The grill started on the first try and a beautiful blue flame came from the burners. I only used propane with this grill, but they do offer an option to use natural gas. I used the grill everyday to cook dinner for seven days straight because of how well it cooked and honestly how easy it was to use. Over the course of seven days I grilled steak, chicken breast, fish fillets, hamburgers, chicken legs/wings, Italian sausages, and even pork sausage one night for sausage and gravy! I will tell you that this grill couldn't burn anything even if you tried! While cooking one night I totally forgot about the steaks and thought they were definitely burnt when I saw the temperature gauge at 650 degrees. However, the steak was perfectly fine and this is due to the curved inserts above the burners that displace the heat evenly throughout the grill and not directly on the meat. This is a very nice touch and something that will come in handy if you've ever burnt your food because you got busy tossing ball with the kids. Having a family of five I was a little worried that the grill wouldn't be big enough for our needs as I have always had a large six burner grill. I must say that even though this grill is only a two burner it does a much bigger grills job. I easily fit 12 hamburgers on the main part of the grill and I still had available space on the top rack for zucchini. All in all this grill is a wonderful smaller grill with big grill potential. It has saved me a ton of space on my patio and as mischief as a grill can be it is also an attractive addition to the backyard. So far in the time I have tested it I have had no problems with not starting (even once while grilling in the rain). The grates are pretty easy to clean, but the drip pan and burner covers do get messy easily and take away from the shine of the chrome, but with some light cleaning they were nice looking again. The best part that I have found is the gas meter that comes standard on the propane line. It's very nice to have this addition because I have had $600 grills that didn't include this feature and with only two burners you won't be running to the store constantly to grab a new tank. Overall, this is a beautiful grill that any size family can use and as someone who grills nonstop for 6-7 months out of the year I promise that you won't be disappointed with this signature series grill.

The grill came in a 4 x 4 box which had a tape on the top warning that the box weighed over 70 lbs. When I opened it up I saw what contributed to this very heavy package. Each part was exactly and perfectly placed between the most beautifully crafted pieces of material which kept all parts out of contact with the other parts. My grill came perfectly intact because of superior packaging.
I thought the price was very high – certainly more than what I would be willing to pay for a grill – goodness I could lease a car for that price – then I started unboxing the pieces…. WELL, that opened my eyes and my attitude went 180 to the other side …. I am impressed with the construction …. The price makes sense now. You definitely get what you pay for, if you are willing to lay down 3 C-notes (and change) for a grill you will NOT be disappointed – this baby is constructed to last a good while. That was my first ah-huh moment the second v-8 moment came during the assembly process.
There is almost no plastic in this product and the sheet metal is polished not painted. All of the metal parts are of heavier-duty than any grill I’ve seen before. The stainless steel is like you would find in a commercial restaurant’s kitchen’s prep tables. The screws used for assembly are thick industrial-strength bolts. Even the door isn’t the stamped metal I expected but more like a luxury car door. All of the working inner parts are all stainless steel and look like they will give many years of service. Even the knobs operated with a precision like you would find on a restaurant’s gas stoves.
My only complaint is with the assembly book itself – here’s a pop-quiz: What do these items have in common; Char Broil Product / Assembly Booklet and my Hoover vacuum cleaner? (hint: vacuum cleaner is a big clue). I put some of the pictures up in this review to show what I’m talking about – I don’t get it – I would have gladly paid an additional $15 more if the instructions were actual instructions instead of a brain floss exercise. Or here’s a novel thought Char Broil, put your QC and Training Management people to work and come up with a how-to-assemble using a CD vs a booklet? Or…. there is an up-and-coming website I’ve heard about – they call it youtube – apparently there are a lot how-to videos on that “new” website – just a thought Char Broil, anything is better than that kiddie coloring book you call “instructions”
The first 9 pages are standard warnings and legalese (i.e. “Some parts may contain sharp edges” or this one “Do not use charcoal or ceramic briquettes in gas grill”) that come with everything we buy today. The company using words AND pictures together, what a concept, making sure that everyone understands that if you do this or you don’t do that well…. the company is not responsible – 9 pages written in English complete with drawn pictures. But wait there’s more….. 9 pages written in Spanish complete with drawn pictures. But they’re not done yet…. 9 pages written in French complete with drawn pictures. That’s a total of 27 pages using the dual learning concept incorporating words AND pictures TOGETHER – what a novel idea that is and I hope you enjoyed those 27 pages because after that it’s no-man-land. No more words just a bunch of pictures and arrows and….. I’m really confused by the box with a male silhouette and plus sign and another male silhouette …. what the ???? Is this an LGBT pc thing or …. I don’t know. And why only male silhouettes, I’m a female and I’m putting this thing together. Char Broil this is the 21st century get with the program and drop the stero –typical male only bonding grilling experience. Remember what I said about my vacuum cleaner? You understand now….
SOME THINGS THAT I THINK ARE IMPORTANT SO I TYPED THIS IN BOLD FONT: There are a whopping 134 individual parts in the box required for assembly. Do NOT take shortcuts thinking you can skip a step or move ahead a couple of steps. (I know, it is very tempting especially when you are forced to play Pictionary while trying to assemble your grill – DON’T DO IT – you will live but your grill won’t) The whole process is designed to enhance and add to the previous steps. If you skip something, no matter how minor it may look on that Pictionary instructions that task may have a bigger responsibility than what you can see at that moment. HEED MY WARNING --- DON’T SKIP-TO-MY-LOU MY DARLIN’. Each part must be assembled in the proper order because often the next part mounts over or around that part and traps access to it again
Nowhere does it state what tools are required…oops keeping in step with Pictionary instructions I will rephrase …. I did not see any boxes with tool silhouettes anywhere, on any page. Just those mysterious male silhouettes (2 males) and a plus sign… I’m not exactly sure what those male shadows are supposed to be telling us, and how they fit in the process ….several ideas come to mind but since this is a family website I will keep it clean and you can let your imagination run wild. Back to what tools you will need; square Allen wrench would be ideal if you have one - if not then a standard Philips will work just fine. If you have different size Philips then make sure you have them close at hand – the screws have different size slots. So, you have to ask yourself one question…. do you want to spend that much money on a grill? You will have to answer that question; each person has their own criteria to decide …. Is it worth it? I can tell you how I would answer that – remember I initially said “no” to the expense – but then… I actually saw it, touched it, used it and compared it to what I’ve researched at retail and in ads. There is no doubt this is a superior high-end product. It’s only after assembling it and seeing the fit, finish and overall choice of materials that I can agree that this is truly a signature product representing the top of the line for gas grills. This item was sent as a free sample in exchange for my review.

I received this 2 Burner Signature gas grill as a free sample in exchange for my review. Upon receipt of the grill, I found it easy to open and assembly was straight-forward and moderately easy. I love to grill and I found this grill very easy to use. With only two burners, it is compact and efficient. The heat is consistent, too, so there are no "cold spots" that I have had in other grills that I have owned. The stainless steel appearance is very cool and high-end for the price of the grill. Overall, I'd recommend this grill.

Boy, before buying this grill you better really love assembling big items. It was a bear to assemble. The directions are TERRIBLE. No words -- just pictures. Nightmare!! Once assembled the grill worked fine. It won't stand the test of time but it is fine for the price. The burners heat an it unevenly. Other than that it worked like any other gas grill I've owned or operated. Full disclosure -- I received this item free to test it out. Other than the assembly it is fine for the price.

Rusty Trough Pans

I am on my second trough. Wish they came in stainless steel as I notice many others have the same problem. Maybe coating the pans below the grills with heavy duty foil would give the troughs an extra year of service. My 3 burner commercial model did not have this problem but that was Florida.
