Don't like much

If you lean a little on washer it lights up or starts. It wobbles and hammers (35 years never had problem in same house). No need for all the settings just makes it look like it does a lot more and less is best. It never stays on the same setting load to load. Can't hear it signal when load is done even on highest setting. When washer stops after a period of time all lights are off so if you couldn't hear signal wash done and you forgot you had a load in there is not indication there is a load in washer. Too deep.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good size and features

We purchased this unit to be stacked in our new laundry room. It has a useful capacity, and is quiet. The door opening/closing mechanism is a bit cluncky, but I would still purchase again.

So far this model is awesome! All the bells and whistles you could ask for. The capacity is HUGE! Way, way better than the other washer we had for only 5 years.

It's good but...

It is slow to clean your laundry. I think all new wash machines take a lot longer per cycle. Also, it's best to keep your door open after each use to allow the unit to dry. Otherwise, it's always humid and damp in the drum. Makes me wish they had a feature to pull out the excess humidity after each load.

This is a great washer. It has all the features you want. The first load I did was a load of towels to see how it worked. You could see they came out cleaner than my old washer. This has the features that my old one was missing for less money. Like quick wash, more water, steam etc. It sits a little low. I would like it to be at least six inches higher. But other than that it has given GE a good name.

So I was in the market for a front load washer, end ended up buying and returning 3 different brands ( 2 Korean brands and one Swiss) before finally buying the G.E. This washer is so smooth and quite compared to the other, unreal the difference. This is a sleeper that I hope people realize is very competitive and better in my opinion. The only thing, I wish the display was brighter sometimes hard to read.
