Amazed at the 4.4 star average review. Within a few months the top chrome trim tab came unglued with no way to reattach it. There are tiny little plastic guides that break easily. I've had it epoxied back in since then. Now, 3 years and 6 months after buying this dishwasher, it just quit. GE has fully embraced planned obsolescence. Can't even make a dishwasher last 4 years? Unbelievable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While we know the importance of an appliance operating for a long period of time, it is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan, or life expectancy. There are multiple variables involved such as frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance.

After 1 Year and 9 months the dishwasher started to leak at the bottom of the door. Poor design of the gasket at the inside of the bottom of the door. The gasket is curling under allowing the water to flow outside of the door and on to our hardwood floor and carpet. Horrible, looking to replace with another brand.

Not built to last

This dishwasher was a massive disappointment. After having it for only 2.5 years, I got the error code FTD, failure to drain, despite the fact that it was draining. Did some research and replaced the pressure sensor. It worked for a day, and then gave the error code H2O, even though it was not having a problem filling with water. I’ve tried to run it over and over and it randomly ends the cycle on me. Message boards online say this is a common issue and the solution is to replace it. What a waste of money! This will be my last GE appliance.

It does not washes well, I leaves food residues on the dishes of top shelf, and does not dry too rack dishes!

We'd like to help out with getting the most out of the wash and dry cycle on your dishwasher.
An important factor for both the wash and dry cycle is the inlet temperature of the water. You will want to check and make sure that it is reaching 120°F at minimum. This will ensure that the detergent and food residue is completely dissolved.
For optimal wash performance, we recommend using high quality detergents such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent. For getting the best results during the dry cycle, we recommend using a dedicated rinse aid. This helps prevent spots on glasses and promotes drying by causing water to sheet off of dishware and glassware. Make sure that dishes are not touching.
