Looks great but always broken.

We got this dishwasher after the first GE dishwasher was repaired numerous times. We didn't have any trouble getting it replaced with a new one with the warranty we bought. I absolutely loved this dishwasher at first. My favorite feature is the small slide out top shelf. It is perfect for sippy cup lids. We have only had it a few months and it has been broken half of the time we have had it. I understand things break but when it works for 1 load and it takes a week to come out and then they have to order the part and it is another week to repair it for the THIRD time. That is unacceptable. They have apparently had problems with the panel board and something else with the heater having a crack in it and shutting down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The dishwasher will leak and destroy your kitchen

This dishwasher will leak from a rubber recirculation hose hidden underneath. This will seep water under your flooring, destroy your subfloor, ruin you cabinets and cause over $20k in damage to your home.
This is a well known and documented defect in the rubber recirculation elbow.
Every GE dishwasher that uses the same recirculation pump and defective elbow will suffer the same failure. I am in the middle of a home disaster from this defect. Ask yourself, is it really worth it?

Simply the best overall washer EVER!

If it wasn't for the 3rd cleaning rack I would have walked away. But, there it was... the water jets... finally someone thought outside the box and found a solution! Huge cup? Filled with everything? No problem with the water jets! Oh and not to mention the chaos of water jets cleaning every angle imaginable right above and below... this washer was simply the best investment I have made in a long while. Having this new addition to the family has given me a break from having to tirelessly hand was dishes while fighting the hoard of dishes that kept piling up... look no further, this one is the real deal.

This dishwasher would be very quiet were it not for the frequent, loud clunking noises made by the motor, which starts and stops many times during a typical cycle. My old GE dishwasher did not do this. The motor also emits a faint, high pitched whine when running. Cycle times are crazy long. Auto wash with sanitizing and heated dry clocks in at 235 minutes. Yep, that's almost 4 hours! Turning on the bottle washers adds 23 minutes to any cycle, which seems excessive. Drying is so-so; not bad, but not great either. My old GE dishwasher did a much better job with drying. The white indicator lights on the control panel are much too bright, and can be distracting if you have an open floor plan like I do. My unit arrived fresh from the factory with a minor scratch on the lower portion of the front door, the one place not protected by plastic wrap during shipping. While the scratch is not visible from most viewing angles, you would hope that a brand new appliance would arrive blemish free. Overall, not a terrible dishwasher, but not particularly impressive either, especially given the high price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased this dishwasher a few months ago- wanted to use it for a while before posting a fair review. So far, have been very pleased with this product. Dishes, glasses, and silverware consistently come out very clean. Also impressed with how quiet this machine runs- makes a low pitched whir so easy to talk to others or watch my tv without a drowning loud sound. One suggestion for improvement- the small view window on the rinse aide container makes it hard to determine how much rinse aide is left, especially when close to empty. Would suggest adding an electronic rinse aide indicator, possibly to the display panel.

Much better w/controls on the front

The old GE with controls on the front died after 5-6 years. Replaced the soap dispenser once
The new DW is essentially the same as the old and has the really cool dedicated silverware wash nozzles
I’ve had best results with the Finish power balls for detergent
The cascade left a soap taste in the water bottles
I would recommend this to a friend!
