Good Dishwasher

I just got this installed two weeks ago. So far it has worked well. I haven't needed the bottle washing feature yet, just might have to get something dirty that will fit on it so I can try it. I bought this one because of the third rack up top, the quietness of the dishwasher and recommendations from someone who has this model that loves it. I am actually a little disappointed about how shallow the top rack is. The pictures on line make it look like you can put your measuring cups up there, Not so and only the very center will hold my large spoon and some of my spatulas. I still am able to use it for some things which is nice. I also use mayonnaise lids from the gallon size jars to feed cats (17 currently, 10 are fosters) this diswasher does not have a level spot to put them in the top rack. So they don't really work in the dishwasher. Other then that, It works good. Looks great! I'm leaving the protective plastic cover on the front for a while so I don't know how great the fingerprint hiding is yet.

Hi there, we're pleased to know your new dishwasher has worked well, that it looks great, that it's running quietly, and that you like the 3rd rack, but sorry you're finding the top rack to be more shallow than expected.

We know this can be frustrating, so we're pleased to let the upper rack allows 2” of adjustment up or down to accommodate large items. The upper rack may be lowered by pushing the long flaps on each side of the rack. This will allow you to lower the rack. To raise the rack, lift up on the rack until the rack locks in place.

We hope you find this information useful and we're wishing you the absolute best. Let us know if you need anything else.

Loud
on February 15, 2022

Replaced old dishwasher because it was starting to get loud. This was supposed to be around 46 db but actually is producing around 57 db. The old was way quieter and had thick sound insulation all around it to include the kick plate. This one has some very thin rubber on some parts of the tub, not even close to all of it and none for the kick plate. I don’t see how this is supposed to be quiet. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for quiet or have the store prove it before buying. I am stuck with this one now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from geappliances.comBy Mike@GEAGE AppliancesFebruary 16, 2022
Hey there,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us. We can certainly understand how much of a pain a loud dishwasher can be. Remember, actual sound levels can be a little different once installed in the home. You might find the appliance quieter or louder than the decibel rating suggests. The loudness of a dishwasher depends on the installation location, the cabinetry where it is located, the flooring, the countertop above it, and even whether the dishwasher is full of dishes or partially empty. Thank you for choosing GE. Mike@GEA

Third rack for utensils.

This dishwasher was to replace a 5 year old GE dishwasher with a third rack. The third rack on old dishwasher moved back and forth smoothly. This new dishwasher has a major design flaw with the third rack. You cannot move rack without it coming off the tracks. You can see that the tracks widen towards the back of the dishwasher, thus tightening up and making it extremely difficult to pull track in and out. I'm afraid to reorder the same dishwasher, but this is not going to work. I love the third rack. Anyone else have this issue?

What isn’t wrong with this?

After 15 months of use, the top arm that washes the upper dishes has fallen off, the bottom won’t drain, and the front has pieces falling off. I don’t have anyone I dislike enough to whom to recommend it.

Hello - we're sorry to know that the dishwasher hasn't met your expectations, and completely understand how frustrating a situation like this can be. We take your design feedback very seriously, and please know we will pass these comments on to our product and design teams for future consideration.

Every cycle on your dishwasher will vary on time depending on the type of performance selected, and any additional options selected. You can learn more about this on pages 7-8 of your owner's manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000214-3.pdf

This unit is rated at 46 dBA, which is a sound level that could be compared to that of moderate rainfall. The dishwasher also produces certain sounds due to the nature of its design, and you can learn more about them here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=38923

Please reach out to us on social media if there are other questions or concerns we can assist you with.

Take care.
