Love Mug, Hate Lid Design

Purchased two mugs today & immediately started testing them for hot/cold duration. All is good. The thing we do NOT like is the lid design. Since opening is recessed a bit and slopes up & out, you need to tip mug slowly to avoid dribble. Both my husband & myself experienced this today. We will be returning these mugs & will try one with a different lid design.

Stylish, but not my favorite

I received a couple of these for Christmas. Maybe I'm spoiled by my stainless steel mugs, but I just am not crazy about these. On the plus side, they're easy to hang onto {I have a tremor]. However, they do not keep hot beverages hot and they do not keep cold beverages cold any more than a regular plastic cup does. I actually told my sister they would be perfect for my 3-y/o niece when they are traveling because she can have her milk or juice and when she is done with it, she can snap the seal shut and if she falls asleep, she won't have to worry about it dropping and spilling all over the car. As for me, however, I think I will stick with my stainless steel mugs.

Like pulling teeth to open the top

I bought the 16 oz. snapseal and I found that it's EXTREMELY difficult to pop the top open to take a sip. Not one-handed operation as is claimed in the ad. I don't know if this is common or if I got a defective unit. Also the coffee gets lukewarm in 2 hours. Very disappointed in this product.

I bought two of these and the rubber grip came loose and became enlarged. Now when washed water get under the grip. I have to dry it and sometimes I let air dry but have found that mold/mildew forms under the grip now. YUK!!!! However it does keep my drinks cold and hot for hours. But this grip issues is a mess and can become gross. These I purchased a year ago.

Disappointed

I have 4 of the 24oz style mugs and despite hand washing them, the paint has completely peeled/chipped off and made them look like garbage. Two of the mugs have been leaking, and regardless of how many times I push the seal back into the lid, it does not want to stay. With how many contigo products we own, I am very disappointed with the quality of them.

Unbelievable Performance

I received this travel mug about 2 years ago as a company 'thanks' reward where I worked and after using it a few times, I no longer have any use for any other travel mug. The insulating performance of this mug in both hot and cold applications is remarkable and the capacity is very generous. I can put hot coffee in the mug and after 4 hours of driving, the coffee is still very warm. If I put a cold drink with ice in the mug, the ice remains for a VERY long time and if the seal is kept closed between sips, the carbonation also remains. This mug is absolutely spill proof. I have accidentally left it tipped over on the passenger seat for over 3 hours and not a drop of liquid escaped. My only caveat would be, if you drink liquids with milk product in them (like coffee with cream), take extra care to clean the drinking hole and the rubber snap seal as it does develop a 'milk ring' over time. Also, I advise to open the snap seal while the lid is still on the mug because that snap seal holder is STRONG and can be tricky to open with big clumsy hands like mine. This mug performs better than any other travel mug I have owned in the last 25 years and that includes mugs costing 4 or 5 times as much. I actually came to the Contigo website to purchase another mug so that I can carry a hot AND cold drink with me when I travel as a truck driver. Two big thumbs up for this product for amazing performance at an exceptional price!

Love the 24oz capacity. Liked the rubber grip until it started to stink. Water got under the rubber, I tried to remove it for cleaning. Could not slide it back on. Had to slit it in half and superglue to the body. Could not stretch it enough so now I have an ugly mug with partial wrap for heat protection and grip. The snap close requires two hands, followed by a splash of coffee out of the spout.
