Great but....

The mug is almost perfect. It keeps liquid hot for a long time, the snap seal is amazing, it holds a lot of liquid and it's diameter is nice. The biggest problem is the "lid to mug seal", the seal rolls or twists and if you don't notice and fix it the lid leaks. It's quite tedious and difficult to reseat the rubber seal properly but it will eventually roll or twist again. I have tried to tighten the lid mindful of this (not over tighten) and haven't had success in preventing this problem from reoccurring.
As a side note, I have never washed the mug in dishwasher only by hand.
I would recommend this mug but with this caveat.
Any suggestions for a permanent fix would be appreciated.

This mug makes taking coffee to go a SNAP!

I own the Byron in both 16 and 24 oz. sizes. I’ve had the smaller one for over 3 years, and the larger one for just under 3 months. I give it 5 stars because:
1) The double-wall vacuum insulates my coffee quite well. So well, in fact, that I’ve nearly blistered my tongue on occasion, even after leaving the lid off for a cooldown period of 10 minutes or so and taking a drink an hour later.
2) The size and shape are perfect; the cylindrical body feels comfortable to hold, and fits in 98% of cup holders I’ve put it in. I work construction, so I’m constantly switching vehicles or operating equipment, which makes that feature alone wildly important.
3) The lid is smart and easy to operate—I can hold the mug, open it, and sip from it with one hand. Personally, the ease of operation far exceeds my needs. Also, it doesn’t leak!
4) The stainless-steel body can take a beating. I’ve dropped it, kicked it, dropped rocks on it, and even run it over with a tractor (evident if you look closely enough).
5) It’s insanely affordable (both cheaper AND BIGGER than others of its caliber)!

The lid for the gray one needs replacing (sun damage and frequent use has made it smell like plastic and it doesn’t seal completely anymore), but it is three years old. In the past, I’ve owned over twenty travel mugs, and I couldn’t recommend any of them over the Byron. Good job, Contigo!

Exceeds expectations on maintaining and leakage
easy to keep lid clean
After right at 6 months of daily usage starting to have problems keeping seal in place, it has stretched with use and becoming hard to keep in place. Do you sale a replacement?

Love but hate...

I LOVE my cups, I have two.. BUT yes, the black paint is chipping off, I can handle that part..but inside is really interesting. Seems the metal inside is coming off! I purchased just last fall. I use them everyday. I have no clue as to why? I will get new ones, but concerned as to why this is happening..

Essential travel mug for all seasons. You can rest assured a fly won't drop in your coffee cup since it has a lid, or people can't do anything to your drink if you turn your head. Best travel mug in the world I think This is my second one. I threw my first one across the yard because another animal was trying to attack my cat so I scared it off.
Otherwise I'm quite sure it would have lasted me a few more years and mine was already over a year old. Probably 2. I made this nifty hanger for it for some situations where it could be needed. I've had to hang it a few places a few times and the tings is easy to make, but the cup is fine witout one, too..

Need replacement parts.

My wife an I just picked up a couple of these a week ago, in general I think it’s a good travel mug. But today I was rinsing one out and the seal popped off and is now lost to the plumbing gods, so now the mug is basically worthless. I cannot seem to find replacement seals, and thus the low score.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
