I have 3 different Contigo bottles that I use daily for ice water. The Bryon doesn't seem to hold the ice as long as the 20 ounce Thermalock Glacier, but it does hold the ice for a long period. I do like the fact that the Byron is 24 ounces.

Hot coffee just the right temp for hours

And hours. I like to sip very hot coffee bit keeping it piping hot has always been a problem. Problem solved with this cup. Allow your coffee to cool a few minutes with the cap off, screw on the cap, and you have coffee the perfect temp all morning. Done and done.

Well sealed, poor heat retention

This travel mug is sleak & doesn't leak, but it fails to retain heat. I like how it looks and feels, but that doesn't matter when your hot beverage is cold in less than an hour. A lesson to all: stick with stainless steel!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
