[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my old Kitchen Aid unit from 1999 that was still working great, but since I was replacing my Kitchen Aid Dishwasher I decided to replace the Disposer at the same time since it was 14 years old. The only problem is that the new unit won't allow food waste to enter the disposer without manually forcing it in. It even restricts the flow of water into the disposer. Without the Sink Baffle water flows great, with it installed it's a definite barrier to both food scraps and water. I have resorted to cutting the sink baffle with scissors to allow it to open up and let food & water easier access to the interior of the disposer.
Pros: Very quiet
Cons: sink baffle acts as a restrictor
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I replaced my garbage disposal with a new KitchenAid--what a difference. The new unit is much quieter and the food waste is pulverized and drains much more quickly. It was easy to install. I'm very pleased

This was installed several weeks ago and I am very happy with it. It is reasonably quiet running and makes little noise when shredding stuff. There is a small amount of vibrational resonance in my stainless sink but it is still much quieter than any other disposer I have owned.
