Keeps Produce Fresh Longer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we rebuilt our home in 2019 we had the opportunity to create a deeper spot for a larger fridge rather than shallow counter depth which holds less. In searching, the LG Signature 3186 had the largest capacity in the market. The custom kitchen cabinets were designed around it, and we’re so glad we did! The advanced features, interior lighting and beauty made this one of our best decisions.

Nice initial design, with some flaws

I have had this refrigerator for about 3.5 years. While the design is initially appealing, there are some cons that jump out. Likely the biggest con: a very small ice tub + it takes a long time to fill the ice tub. Often the tub will stay empty during hot summer days, even after using the setting to make ice quicker. Some features, such as the sensor that can open the door with a slide of foot near the bottom, are over kill functions that sell products but are rather often useless in reality, and just add to the cost.
The shelf setup could be redesigned to include more height / shelf options. Fairly quickly it was clear that large jugs, like 1 gallon milk jugs, could not seamlessly coexist with smaller containers without wasting a lot of space.
It would be great if the filters (water & fresh food filter) had a longer shelf life before needing to be replaced.
The current issue, which is likely just bad luck and not model specific, is the condenser stopped working, causing the refrigerator and freezer to not cool enough. A repair is being done today but took a couple of weeks to arrange with the help of Square Trade / LG support.
Overall, considering it is the top model LG offers and expensive compared to mid / lower models, it could be a better experience.
Note: The refrigerator was part of the 3 piece LG Signature set (refrigerator, oven, & dishwasher) and was purchased from Costco.

Great Look, Impressive Features, Room to Improve
on August 21, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit is unique and loaded with features. The question for me was if they were worth the price. So far the answer is yes, but there are some downsides I would have liked to know prior to buying so here you go.
The Good -
Space - wow this unit has room to spare and lots of great storage options. The ice-side door has narrow shelves but I actually like them for our smaller items. The shelves are wide and deep and we have yet to find something that doesn't fit.
Looks - this unit is beautiful in person. The glass door is functional and handy for frequently used items. Be aware however, the doors extend beyond the face of your cabinets at least 5.5 inches. They are thick doors and pivot in a way that requires space on both sides unlike a built-in unit.
Party Tricks - Knock-Knock, the kids love lighting up the interior with a knock. This is one feature I don't think will last past the initial novelty but, we will see. Auto Door Open, this is fun to show people and even better when my hands are full. We weren't sure if we would use it but we do - like it a lot. Auto-extend freezer drawers are handy and make it easy to retrieve items that are down low. They retract quickly too so you don't have to wait to close the door.
Interior finish - stainless inside with the shelving lights are brilliant. Love to open and look at the goodies. It looks high-end and so far stays clean to the touch.
Function - The food is cold, the veggies are crisp(unlike any of my prior refrigerators), and the ice doesn't chip all over the floor when dispensing. I haven't used any of the smart grid features and don't plan to even if my utility incorporates the technology.
The Bad -
First, the unit tilts back at the top for the express purpose of allowing gravity to close the door in the event the auto open function is inadvertently triggered. This leads to DOOR SLAMMING. Yikes if you give a door just a little nudge...the contents slam around. Surely there is a soft close design modification or mechanism to raise the back of the unit they could add on a unit that cost over 6 large. The fact that these doors are heavy to begin with, coupled with the tilt, makes for some real ramming speed momentum on both refrigerator doors. This was almost a deal killer for me but we are getting use to this "feature". I called tech support and they hadn't had any input on this issue.
Second, this unit is ginormous big. The movers never moved a unit like this and were unprepared. You MUST require them to use floor protection or your hardwoods will be damaged (ours were). Guaranteed.
Finally, there are a couple of minor nits. The top shelf behind the glass door is not adjustable and the gap between the top of the shelf and the top of the door is too small to retrieve most items when using the glass door for access. Another nit is the door water is not chilled unlike my prior unit. Finally, I adjusted one of the interior shelves and the under shelf light doesn't work. Will have to see if that holds true when they deliver the next unit. This unit was damaged during shipping.

I love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this refrigerator for several months now we all absolutely love it we're even gotten used to the doors closing a little differently than they do on other refrigerators and for us it's just fine the freezer works wonderfully the drawers are fantastic the shelves in the refrigeration compartment are easy to clean and there is plenty of light so you can see what is it in there the ice and water dispenser works very well I like the drawers in the refrigerated compartment because they have settings depending on what you're storing in them I like that there is a display telling you what the temperature is in the refrigerator and the freezer I just can't Rave about this enough I am so glad
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality, easy to use

Beautiful and every you'd want if it would run

I bought it less than a year ago, from the minute it was plugged in the water and ice maker wouldn't work, also the light would never shut off and the foot thing on the freezer didn't work either. We trouble shot the water and ice maker and replaced the necessary parts but still didn't work. When I called in to submit a service request they said there was not a tech in our area and they would have to call me back. Never a call. I called in again and got the same answer and was told I put on the list. Now it's 3 months since that request and the fridge and freezer have quit cooling. I'm not expecting the best outcome from the service request I submitted. I bought the extended 5 year warranty but don't know what good it does when no one can fix it
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like it but needs some improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed 7/12/17. Really like it but would like some improvement.
1. Measured fill is nice but would like to press 4oz, or 8oz, or 16oz button and walk away while the glass is being filled instead of staying and holding the glass while it is filling.
2. The top two doors are heavy when closing when door shelves are stocked with jars and bottles. Need a special hinge to help closing the door controlling the weight of the door.
3. Need a shelf that folds away so that tall bottles can be placed in refrigerator.
4. Very happy with the way it keeps food cool. Like the freezer the way the drawers pull out and return when closing the freezer doors.

great refrigerator. Quality inside and out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this a few weeks ago. I love the stainless interior which is easy to keep clean and great against bacteria. The doors are sturdy and the interior lights make the inside bright and clean looking. There is no spot inside which seems to be colder then the other and finally, the water tastes great from the new filter.
