This unit is to replace my very old Cuisinart; it is far sturdier, requires less parts since the slicing disc can be adjusted, runs quietly, easily cleaned and very good looking.
I bought this to replace a 15 year old Cuisinart. Still working perfectly, but I wanted a unit with a small chopping bowl and easier to clean. This suits my need perfectly. Very sleek.
After 40 years of being a customer of another brand, I now realize I should have had a Breville food processor all along. My new machine is a wonderful workhorse and I'm just delighted to use it. Take about fast and precise. It's easy to use with the best results ever.
This is a powerful food processor. We make hummus every week and our other food processor couldn’t break down the beans to the texture we were looking for. This does the job perfectly. It’s a bit quieter than I was expecting, too!
The Sous Chef 12 is a huge improvement over the KitchenAid food processor I just retired. The pulse button works perfectly, the handle has not trapped food and dries out well between uses; it evenly chops, grates and accurately slices every vegetable I've tried. Best of all, I was able to process over a quart of canned tomatoes into a sauce without any leaks! I could never do this with my KitchenAid or Cuisinart. I might buy the small bowl so I can chop just one or two garlic cloves at a time since that's too small an amount for the 12-cup bowl to chop finely enough. My only complaint is the noise/rattle, which my husband believes is to be expected from a machine with all that power. Customer svc was excellent, determining that the noise from the first machine I rec'd was excessive; the replacement still has a loud rattle stopping and starting, but it's much less with the replacement.
