Plastic bowl doesn’t last!
on November 27, 2022

I bought this as a christmas gift for my mother. For so long she didn’t want to use it since it was such an expensive gift for her! She finally put aside her food processor of 20 years!!! and started using this one! After couple times she used it, she realized the plastic bowl started cracking in every use. After 4 times, she is done using it and brought back her 20 year old processor! Definitely not worth it of the money you pay for it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disks

I purchased this model in hopes to add on disks at a later time. Come to find out, Breville doesn't make a French fry disk or the cube disk to fit this model, By the time I found out I had already used it. Disappointed that the Sous Chef 12. The main reason I purchased the 12 is that I didn't think I needed a larger size bowl. If I would have known at the time, I would have moved up to the model that supports all the disks.

Disappointment with Broken Part and Breville's Inability to Replace Part
on February 4, 2021
Posted by: DSF
I purchased this product a few years ago - after over 24 yrs with a basic food processor that finally died. Unfortunately, the blade for this product broke (not sure why - we take great care of our kitchen appliances). That can happen but what leads me to a 1-star review is the fact that we cannot replace this part for many months (the helpful customer service person indicated that the earliest would be the end of May). For such an expensive product, Breville should make sure that any replacement parts are much more readily available. So 1-star for (i) the breakage of an essential part and (ii) the inability to replace the part in short order (and with an imprecise timeline)

Best ever

I replaced a 20-year-old Cuisinart with a new 14-cup Cuisinart, only to find that the top couldn't be attached to the bowl--defective alignment. It was also much chintzier feeling than the old one that died. After reading reviews (I was a Cuisinart cook, never looked at the reviews before buying), I found others had the same experience AND the tiny spindle that wasn't aligned correctly often broke. So I decided to spend the extra and get the top-rated Breville. Oh, my. I use my processor every day, often several times a day. I've only had it a day, but I've grated zucchini, pureed bananas, chopped nuts and onions, made pie dough (which I had never done in a food processor before--I'm kind of a snob about pastry) and sliced potatoes for au gratin. Everything was perfectly done (although I did have to scrape the sides of the bowl in order to get all the bananas pureed). Someone complained about the cord being short--it isn't. It pulls out from the base a full two feet and I love that it tucks right back into the base. The machine is sturdy, much better made than the Cuisinart. I also love the hole in the plug. That makes it so easy to remove the plug from the socket. My only regret is that I didn't order the plus, but I will get the small bowl and blade when they're back in stock. I'm a converted Cuisinart cook and love the Breville.

Love it, but it breaks

I love the functionality of this, much better than the Cuisinart in many ways. But the bowl has broken in a few places, as well as the plunger, and replacements are not forthcoming. They really really need to change a few things, and it would be perfect. If this becomes unusable, I'll reluctantly go back to the Cuisinart because things don't break.

Best food processor I ever owned...and I have owned way too many...

I enjoy using this processor and it lives up to the recommendations and reviews. I have no issues with shredding or grating, but do have one question on chopping with the s-blade. Is the s-blade supposed to be moving up and down the spindle during processing? I see no way to lock it in place on the spindle.

Strong and fast processor but does not dice
on December 22, 2020

I bought this not knowing that it does not dice and that I can't buy attachments to make it dice. Very unhappy about this. It's a great slicer but that isn't my need.

1000W or 700W
on September 26, 2022

Received on 9/23/22. Works great as expected. Have grated cheese, made pastry dough and pumpkin pie. The manufacturer tag on bottom of my unit states 700W. I purchased for powerful motor as my cuisinart and kitchenaid both failed after grating cheese. Please someone let me know if mine is incorrect or if advertizement is incorrect. Other than discrepancy, I am very pleased.
