I would give it 5 but there was no assembly or instruction manual.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a solid food processor! My first one was a KitchenAid and after 15 years it broke. I purchased a Cuisnart and it was a complicated design, cheaply made and broke after 3 years. Immediately I could tell the Breville is made well. I use it often to make pie dough and the ingredients are blended beautifully. I recommend this model!
It was awesome till it stopped working out of the blue

I had the food processor for a while and used it quite often till all of a sudden the power button wouldn't work unless pressed multiple times pretty hard too. Then all of a sudden the on/pause button would stop working after the power button was "red" (on).

I bought the Sous Chef 12 today and tried to plug it in. The cord wouldn’t reach. I saw a video of a guy with an 800 unit pulling around four feet of cord out of the base. Not obvious but a tried. After significant tugging we got 1’10” of cord to come out. Other messages here from Breville seem to say we should expect 36”. What gives with this silly cord? If I pull harder something is going to break….
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simply put, the best food processor we have ever owned and that includes Cuisinart, Kitchenaid and Robot Coupe. I do urge new owners to take some time to learn how to use the Breville food processor and do take care to hand wash the parts after using.
