Super short cord.

I bought the Sous Chef 12 today and tried to plug it in. The cord wouldn’t reach. I saw a video of a guy with an 800 unit pulling around four feet of cord out of the base. Not obvious but a tried. After significant tugging we got 1’10” of cord to come out. Other messages here from Breville seem to say we should expect 36”. What gives with this silly cord? If I pull harder something is going to break….

Wonderful power, however…

I have had this for two years and it is a great piece of equipment. However very soon after I purchased it a piece of plastic chipped off of the bottom of the bowl and pieces continued to break off over time so now the bowl doesn’t lock into place. I’m frustrated because I’m having a hard time locating a replacement.

Great machine but bowl is not engineered well

I upgraded to this machine 1 1/2 years ago thinking it would last a life time. The top is better engineered than my old processor. However, I just had to replace the bowl as some pieces chipped off the bottom locking device and it would not work. The rest of the processor is great, but be very careful how you remove the bowl from the stand as it chips rather easily.

I am very happy with this food processor and heavily recommend it. I am pleased with how Breville followed through with a replacement when I was starting to experience problems with the machine.

Great food processor

Bought it +3y ago and still works perfectly. I recommend! I have one concern though… I would like to clean up inside the handle however I didn’t find a way to separate the 2 sides of the handle (the black/ grey and the transparent). How do you recommend to clean it up? Thanks !
I am not sure how I prepped food without the Sous Chef 12. The size is perfect and I love it for shredding my cheese, prepping veggies, and chopping up chocolate bars for my cookies. It’s thoughtfully designed as are all Breville appliances and is so well made.
This processor works really well. The only draw back is that the plastic bin began to slowly break when I would try to lock it. I wasn’t rough with it either. Now it doesn’t lock but it still works as long as I turn it and keep it in place when I turn it on.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Some good some not so much

First, let me say this machine has lots of power and the accessories are great. I've used this unit for about two years and a couple of things just aren't right. First of all, I can't believe a company would make a food processor that has some of its parts not dish washer safe, that's right, the bowl, blade and cover can go in the dish washer but the large dark gray top and smaller pusher must be hand washed??? Secondly, I have not been able to make mayonnaise or thick emulsified salad dressings with this machine. I think the blade doesn't get close enough to the bottom of the bowl to do the job. I recently broke the bowl and someone who didn't know better ran parts through the dishwasher (this made them break apart) I was faced with replace the parts or buy a new food processor. My wife surprised me with a new Cuisinart, not quite the power, 500 watts vs 600 but I can once again make home made mayonnaise and every part is dishwasher. safe.
