A Good Blender with Easy to Use Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Blender/Food Processor to test for free. I found it to be incredibly easy to use, and enjoyed the buttons that would easily allow me to select the type of items that I wanted to blend. I did have some problems chopping ice all the way in one of my smoothies, even with adding quite a bit of liquid. That is partly why I did not give this a higher star review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor quality

For the price of this blender I was very disappointed. I’ve had it for 4 months and It has already stopped working. I only used it 3-4x a week and took very good care of it. I smelt something burning and then it shut off completely and will not work anymore. I will not be buying from this company again.

cheep parts on food processor

I bought this blender about 1/2 a year ago. I was excited for the food processor part. The blender works great- but not the food processor. The bottom black part of the food processor is plastic and the side little notches that hook it into the clear plastic have stripped out. So now I can not use the food processor b/c the blade will not turn b/c the whole bottom part turns instead and makes an awful noise. I am so disappointed that this didn't hold up better.

black rubber o ring...in my smoothie

I had small black pieces of rubber in my smoothie. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Thank goodness for youtube haha...There is a black rubber o ring on the actual blade, this came off during use, the blade leaks and wiggles too. This is not a good design feature. there should be no parts that can come off inside the container where there is possibility of ingestion.

No parts

Nice blender but no replacement parts are available including seal. Parts have been unavailable for years so clearly intended by Oster. Buy with understanding that if any part gets lost or broke you buy a whole new blender.

No replacement jars

I bought this within the last year and was initially pleased with it. However, the jar broke and it is utterly impossible to replace it. Good way to throw your money out.

Oster blenders then and now

When my husband and I married in 1979, neither of us owned a blender. We shopped around, but everything we saw was either an awful color (it was the '70s!) or had way more features than we needed. But one day, in an antique store, we spotted a used Oster blender from the '50s or early '60s that not only looked like new, but worked like a charm! We've used it ever since then for soups, smoothies, pesto, and more. Sadly, last week, after I'd pureed some veggies, I noticed a crack on the inside of the glass jar, and though it hadn't made its way to the surface of the glass, we felt that, for safety's sake, it was time to order a new blender. After researching several brands, we chose the Oster Pro 1200, and we are very, very happy with it! It's got more features but not too many, and the glass jar, blade, and base are solid and practical in terms of shape and usage. Needless to say, it's much quieter than our old one! Nonetheless, our old blender is now a keepsake. Assuming that it was at least 20 years old when we bought it, it's been blending reliably for over 60 years! Thank you, Oster!
