Great Blender for smoothies

This is an excellent efficient blender that makes great smoothies with ease. I was very impressed with the power of the motor. It had no difficulty blending hard pieces of frozen fruit or ice. I only wish the base was metal and not plastic.
Overall a great piece of equipment for your kitchen. **disclaimer, I was sent this blender as a trial to test it out.

Great entry-level performance blender!

My first impression of the blender is that it is an entry level high-performance blender. The box packaging was very busy, with too many colors/pictures, but luckily the product inside was much more simple. The glass jar was solid & durable, as well as the portable drink cup, although that was a bit large & likely wouldn't fit in most cup holders. The blender base looks very nice with a chrome finish, but feels cheap when you touch it because it's actually plastic. I know this saves money and it still looks great, but real metal would've been nice. The blending jar drops right into the base very securely and easily. I loved how easy it was to insert/remove. The digital controls on front are straightforward and easy to get started. I tried making smoothies and the automated smoothie cycle is where this blender really shines. The preprogrammed cycles take the work out of watching over the blender, manually stirring it, pulsing, etc. You push the cycle you want and it starts a fully automated process of varying speeds & blade directions (smoothie, milkshake, salsa modes.) It's awesome & super easy! It blended the ice in my smoothie very well with its powerful motor, albeit loud like any blender. There were no ice chunks or crystals left. I didn't notice any dedicated ice crush setting, but the many cycles do the trick. There are also the typical manual settings too. There are a few slight negatives in addition to the plastic "chrome" base. The center lid insert leaks when flipped upside down to rest on the counter. The main jar lid feels a little flimsy but did a great job remaining tightly sealed with no leaks or need to hold my hand on it. Finally, the main blending jar has a weird spring arm at the bottom that seems like it would easily catch on something and break off. I don't understand its purpose, so I just was careful with it. It disassembles & cleans up very well. Overall, this is a great entry level high-performance blender with very useful automated cycles, from a reputable brand. I received this blender as a sample to review and I would recommend it.

High-end on a budget

I love this blender! It helps effortlessly make salsa, smoothies, and sauces in no time. It has buttons for "frozen", "chop food", and "milkshakes" which I found very helpful in addition to the usual low-high settings. The included To-Go cup (you blend the drink in it) is awesome when you're in a hurry! This is by far the best blender I've used (and I've had a few name brand blenders over the years!). I highly recommend it :)

Commercial grade blender and a retail price

I really enjoy this blender a lot. it has a lot of power , many different features , and I really like the blender cup that you can just attach to the blender itself and then I can take my smoothies on the go and don't have to find an extra cup. The only issue I had with the blender is that with the blender cup there's a ridge that can get dirty but you have no way to get to it to clean it . I did receive this blender as a test item but I would definitely buy it

My first impressions of this blender were very good. The base has a beautiful stainless look that is of high quality, and is a great addition to any kitchen counter. In regards to kitchen counters, it is also the perfect height to keep the unit on your counter under the kitchen cabinets. You will not experience any difficulties placing the glass jar or the smoothie cup on the base while the base is contained on the bar underneath the upper kitchen cabinets. For me, this was a huge plus as I do not like having appliances placed so close to the edge of the counter. Another positive I discovered was that even though this unit contains a good deal of power, it stays put when blending and does not shake or drift. When I first used the automated smoothie setting I expected the unit to move around, but to my surprise it did not and instead stayed firmly in its place.
So far, I have made smoothies, milkshakes, and salsa using the automated settings. I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with its ability to make these three items perfectly. Of course, everyone’s preferences vary with various food and beverages, but you have the ability to hit the stop button if you want chunkier salsa, or even hit the pulse button if you change your mind and want the salsa more finely prepared. You are also not confined to using the predetermined settings (smoothie, food chop/salsa, milkshakes), as there are also the low, medium, high, and pulse settings that you can use at your own choosing.
As it stands, I am thoroughly impressed with this unit; especially in relation to the price point. I have spent more on another blender in the past that wasn’t as good as the Oster Pro 1200. One thing in particular in relation to quality that should be noted, is that the drive system is made up of all metal. The blades are also very sharp, and the smoothie cup that comes with this unit is generous in portion size. I should also note that I have yet to discover any negatives, other than the fact that I would prefer it came with two blades instead of one. This would allow me to have a back up to use if the other was in the dishwasher, and would also be more convenient than having to switch the blade from the glass jar to the smoothie cup. Ultimately, I would certainly recommend this unit to others. It’s a high quality unit that provides great results, and it’s at a good price point.

Cool blender

First off, let me just say that the Oster blender is gorgeous. Very stunning in appearance. From the looks of it, you would anticipate this blender giving you an excellent performance. And it does. Very easy to use. The buttons on it give you many options (you could make a smoothie or milk shake, or even salsa). I made frappucinos and frozen hot chocolate with this, they both came out well. The blender blended all the ingredients well, and the ice was blended just the way i like it (icy but not icy and chunky). For me, the biggest plus of the item was the blender cup having measuring cups listed on it. That was convenient because i did not have to worry much about using additional measuring cups, thus less dishes i would have to clean. Overall, this is an excellent blender that i would recommend to anyone. I received this blender as a sample to test.

Great Blender, and I would recommend to anyone on a budget. For the price, I think it's a bargain. I like all the features especially the glass pitcher and the HUGE smoothie cup. It's a little loud, but for the price, it gets the job done and more. I received this as a sample to rate.

Bad smoothy jar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had about 5 months. Had trouble getting base off smoothy jar for a while. Now completely stuck and cannot get off at all. Blender useless now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
