Oster blender pro 1200 is too good. I use this blender each day. Only problem is with the blades ooze rust. Customer service is best. They helped me with replacement. Thank you.

Food processor replacement/loud noise

I bought this model 3 months ago and today is the first time I use the attached food processor. The middle pin to hold down the lid is so hard to secure the lid. Eventually, the lid popped out and broke the outside plastic bracket to secure the lid. I couldn’t find a replacement for the lid as well as the food processor bowl for this model. Also, the blender in general is super loud.

Blender unusable after the first use because, in spite of tightening everything beforehand, my attempt at a smoothie leaked into the threads between the tritan jar and the base, and without actually breaking things I could not disassemble it to clean. I didn’t really want to continue using a dirty blender with dairy in the threads. So I contacted customer service when I couldn’t find a replacement tritan jar online.
Customer service did not seem to understand the actual issue and kept sending me incomplete or incorrect replacement parts. After a full MONTH back and forth, sending a dozen emails and receiving 3 separate packages that did not solve the problem, I’m giving up. Not even pursuing a return/refund, everything’s going to my local small appliance recycling center.
And I can say with confidence that I won’t even be trying with the food processor attachment, since several reviews mention it breaking after only a couple uses. I was trying to ignore those and was going to give the appliance the benefit of the doubt because of the larger number of other reviews that said it worked well.
The other reason for this poor review is the actual blender performance: it didn’t even make a decent smoothie. It was too loud, and took way longer than my old Hamilton Beach blender (which finally gave out after many years of excellent smoothies) to get the right consistency from the same recipe.
And a final side note: when I asked for an address to return the parts, even the original product, they told me to keep everything. To me, that just says the company doesn’t care about creating excess waste, even if it is just one person’s products.

Food processor is garbage; blender great

I have had great experience with Oster blenders in the past so I was very excited to get a real blender after a long hiatus of sub-optimal replacements for one. I decided on this model because of the food processor attachment. It seemed like a great deal to get both essentially for the price of one and I had had a great experience with an older model of Oster blender/food processor combo. The blender has been amazing and It is being used regularly without a hitch. The food processor is a different story. First use was to shred cheese. It started working OK but halfway through the work I started having problems. I had shredded enough cheese so called it a day and stopped. The next day I was going to use it to make a pesto sauce. The processor wouldn't work at all. After trying to figure out what happened it looks like the adaptor for the food processor broke after a single use. Everything can be assembled but the blades won't turn (because the adaptor doesn't turn at all). If a food processor cannot handle a single use of shredding cheese maybe it shouldn't even be sold at all. VERY disappointed with this product.

Buttons broke after 1 use

I bought this last month and it worked great the first use. On the next use I noticed that the milkshake button would not work. One the next use the Green/frozen smoothie button did not work. Today neither the milkshake not smoothie buttons work. This is poorly made for something to break after minimal use

Really Loud

Bought this after my smoothie maker quit. Unfortunately even on the smoothie setting it does not blend as well. I have to add more liquid than I would like, and feed the ingredients in a little at a time. And it is very loud.

Broke the first time I used it

I got this item as a wedding present, something we put on our registry. We went to use it for the first time and it stopped working mid-use and won’t turn back on. It sounds like there’s probably a fuse issue or something, but I can’t buy the parts anywhere because it’s under warranty. The problem is that the warranty is only valid for the person who initially purchased the blender with the initial receipt. Obviously the person just thought she was buying us a wedding present, and did not think about keeping the receipt. So now we’re out a blender and are pretty disappointed.

I bought this today, the instructions say Line up tabs of jar with tabs on the base. MAKE SURE the tab of the jar on the left side is in the back of the tab of the blender base and the tab of the jar on the right side is in front of the tab on the blender base. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? IWHICH SIDE IS LEFT AND SHICH IS RIGHT.
