Blends but is too loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this blender/food processor combo to make smoothies and although it works, it has a few drawbacks that I am not happy with. Most importantly, it is very loud on the smoothie setting. I have had many blenders that made smoothies without the excessive noise. It's so bad that I have to cover it with a box and it still hurts my ears...and I don't have sensitive ears! Secondly, the little filler cap at the top does not fit snugly and allows food to be pushed up through the cracks which makes a mess. I think I wasted my money on this and will have to get a different blender.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received my Oster 1200 pro blender a week ago. When I first opened it, I was very pleased by its appearance. So much that usually I will keep small appliances like this in a cupboard. I will be keeping this one out on the counter. I have used it a few times. Overall very much pleased with its performance. The biggest issue I have but seems to be with all blenders I have used in the past, is how loud it is. The noise of the blender is minor considering the great performance I have gotten from it so far. I was a little disappointed with the smoothie cup, only because I thought it would attach to the blender, but it doesn't. It is a convenient cup on the go. I really do love the fact that you can buy the food processing accessories for this blender. I think that is awesome. I held a get together over the weekend and it was used all day to make different items. Other than the fact when crushing ice you had to keep picking up the pitcher and shaking it for the ice to crush properly. Other than that, I had no issues. My sister wanted to know where she could get one. Disclaimer: I received this product as a sample to review.

Oster makes the best blenders ever! My mom had an Oster blender, it worked great! I had an Oster Blenderizer, and loved the way it worked, especially the ice crushing feature. This blender looks similar, and probably does a better job. I would buy it without hesitation, either for myself or as a gift.

Overall blender works well, but a rubber foot for the motor was lost and cannot find a replacement foot.

I received the Oster Pro 1200 blender as a tester product and was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use, multiple functions and durability. The speed & mix/blend options were wonderful and I found them useful in making my daily protein shakes as well as homemade salsa & guacamole.
I would recommend this to a friend!
