I first saw a hot tea maker at my sister-in law's. She has the Breville. In my opinion, for $150.00 more, your tea maker is superior. It's also properly priced. Perfect tea, quickly!! Thank you so much for making this terrific hot tea maker!!!
To get this Tea Maker was a absolutely a smart decision - tea is so much healthier than coffee and it's so easy to have a cup of tea with this Tea Maker.
There are 2 design flaws I noticed. One is the labels on the temps are not all correct. According to my tea seller temps should be; 175 for green/white, 195 for black/oolong, and 208 for herbal/rooibos. This means the temp for white tea (185) is not needed at all since it uses the same temp as green tea, and black tea is mislabeled. This is easily overcome by ignoring the labels on the temp selections and just choosing the correct temp. For example, I mostly brew white tea but I brew it at the temp labeled green tea (175). The other flaw I see is that the default steeping times are also off. This again can easily be overcome by programming a custom steep time, which is what I do. I would still recommend the tea maker since the exterior design is pleasing to the eye, and most importantly, the tea tastes great if you use the correct temps and steeping times. You just need to do a little extra mental work. For me this is a four star product, but would be 5 star if the 2 design flaws were not present. To be fair, I've seen similar type of flaws in other tea makers, even those that are more expensive.
