Got iron two (2) days ago. 1. Cord is too short 2. There is no light that turns off to indicate the iron has reached its temperature setting. There is a red power light, but it stays on so you do not know when the proper temperature has been reached to begin ironing. Therefore, how am I suppose to know when I can put it to the steam setting? Booklet only says “Wait 2 minutes” for it to heat 3. I followed all the directions exactly and it still leaks occasionally. 4. Heavy and awkward to handle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dead Iron

I bought this iron about 3.5 years ago and it has worked beautifully up until recently. It has stopped working altogether this week. I am incredibly disappointed. Are we in an age of disposable products now? And it’s not like we have put this iron through unusual wear and tear. It’s only my husband and I who use this iron and we have taken very good care of it.

Design Limitations

The placement of the temperature dial makes it difficult to read - also, my fingers bump the temperature dial it when I reach for the handle and it moves the dial. Also, this brand new iron leaks water. The cord is too stiff and gets in the way. I do not recommend.

I purchased the Sunbeam Master Iron a couple of weeks ago. My previous iron had left me practically in tears, leaking water all over clothing I was ironing and leaving marks from the bottom on the clothing as well. I felt like tossing the iron out my kitchen window! I read an ad for the Sunbeam Steam Master and saw the price. Very, very reasonable. I thought why not? So I ordered one and waited, and when it arrived it was a great day! I was able to iron things quickly with great steam support, and the pointy front of the iron is great for getting into smaller places to iron them. Since that day I must have said to my husband 8 or 10 times "That is the best iron we have ever had!" (And between you and me, I hate ironing!) So, if you are feeling anything like I did about your iron and ironing in general, check out the Black and Decker Steam Master Iron with Retractable Cord. You may end up liking to iron!
