From good to not so good

I got this iron a few months ago. In the beginning, it was fine. After a few uses, the cord stopped retracting. That was a feature that I liked and was one reason why I wanted it. Now, the iron has begin to ruin my clothes because oil is coming from it while I'm ironing. Where is this oil coming from?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought this iron to replace a similar one that we had had for probably more than 10 years. I loved the last one, so was really sad when it started to die. This new version has the features we liked: retractable cord, auto shut-off, variable heat and steam, but is even better than our older model. I use this iron all the time for sewing projects and so far it has been excellent. We have probably had it for a month and a half or so.
This thing is incredible. I ve been using it for a while now.. and it does what it is meant for. It also helped that sunbeam has some tips on how to iron. That greatly helped. Also the retractable cord works great unlike the previous on I owned.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this iron a month ago and I'm so glad I did. I don't have to use starch at all on my clothes... The crease stays all day!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor Quality!

Bought this iron just at a year ago, worked pretty good when it didn't leak, until recently when it simply shut down. Iron not used that much, with probably a total of 20 hours use. Must be constructed to last a year and then stop! Expired warranty and now we have a relatively new iron that won't work. Maybe a doorstop! Not good for the brand, Sunbeam.

Horrible iron, do not buy!

I bought this iron thinking it would be a great steam iron because it is a sunbeam product but it is horrible. It reheats after a short time. I can't even iron one side of a shirt without it reheating once or sometimes twice. I do not recommend. It is so frustrating to use.
