Used TurboTax Business to create & efile returns -- all great! Needed to amend those returns and TurboTax gave instructions for mailing the amended return to Feds... but said 'don't need to mail to State'.... which doesn't make sense to me, since they have the 'wrong' return, efiled... so, this is a place where I have to wonder -- is this ~really~ right? ?
What's great about it: handles all the complexity of small biz filing
What's not so great: have to wonder -- is it 'really' right?
Pros: I bought or sold investments

good experience till the end

This was just fine, but it won't let me e-mail. I am sure there is a reason it won't let me do it, so the major problem is that the TUrbo tax program does not clearly tell me why there is that issue
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: unable to file and zero explination why
Pros: I moved

It was not painless

First time user of Turbo Tax Business. Have used personal version multiple times & quite comfortable.
Have a SCorp with fairly simple business - income, and expenses based on cash-based accounting. I though I could get done in an hour. It took me nearly 4 hours!
The Federal portion was relatively straightforward, though the implications of Incorp date, versus Start of business etc had to be figured out later. The State (CA) portion confused me as did the Review sections after finishing Federal and State portions. It kept highlighting possible portions in worksheet (estimated payment option) that was incorrect, but I had no clue if what I selected meant I had to pay the $800 again!? It does appear so after I e-filed it. Went back and forth...
I had to make some changes to Federal portion. The state portion was already done, but clicking on State didnt automatically populate the fields & take me to review... Instead, it made me click through every screen of the state again... I was trying a few things on the Federal side (struggling with balance sheet calc)... and everytime I would go back to State after doing it, I would have to repeat the State steps. Very painful.
I was also made to pay an CA extension payment during the state portion, which I was not convinced about. But I paid it online to move on.
If business goes okay this year, am highly likely to hire CPA (would cost me more though but hopefully better peace of mind?). Turbo Tax Business was a bit underwhelming. More so, considering I missed the Mar 15th deadline (thought it was Apr 15th), so am looking at possible penalties (!?) - not a good day.
Lastly - no online version, had to download... And I still dont know whether it will automatically populate the relevant K1 numbers into my personal return. (I used the same TTax ID to sign and buy the product).
What's great about it: Familiar TTax UI.
What's not so great: Fed okay, but State flow tedious. Confusing "Error review" section. No online version of TurboTax Business.

I was told that we could not efile our 1065 online. TT let me so I guess we will see how that goes. Pretty good product and wayyyyy cheaper than the alternatives.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy
What's not so great: A little unclear and I used to be a professional preparer

Difficult website, low info content!
on April 14, 2017

The website has bought into ultra simple, actually making it difficult to find what you want. Example, try to find out about the Business State forms, nothing that tells you how you get them. Want to buy Business TurboTax, not obvious, you are taken to another site, very suspicious. Other questions arise: Is a Quicken login the same as a TurboTax.intuit.com login? Intuit is on another planet from its users, or so it seems. Give us the info to know how to buy each of your products, what it does, and its cost. I will say Quicken 2017 has gotten very fast updating after a change, although getting the program started is problematic, and unclear why you have to login to Quicken online when you are using local program with local data and no downloads other than stock quotes. Don't treat us like United treats its customers!
What's great about it: Easy import of previous year
What's not so great: Never see the real tax forms, even when you select "Forms"

You need to know how to do taxes
on April 15, 2017

Even though the product is good overall, I find that I need to be able to understand how to do taxes. It's not enough to just fill numbers in. However, this may apply to any tax program.
What's great about it: Generally has good features
What's not so great: Locks you into Intuit

I use a version of Quicken with categories I set up. If you had a list of the categories I could print, then I could match up the categories with my Quicken accounts.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
